Clarins double serum vs Superdrug pure serum

I got some clarins double serum samples to try after all the rave reviews, and unfortunately, I bloody love it, and so does my skin. But, man £60 is going to hurt.

Before I do, I've ordered some superdrug pure serum to try as it's also meant to be great and about 1/20th of the price

Has anyone tried both of these? How do they compare?

What do you want the serum for? The Superdrug serum is good, and for how cheap it is I'd definitely recommend it. If you want something super moisturising, I'd recommend Neutrogena Hydroboost serum, that's amazing.

I've given the superdrug pure serum a good try now, and unfortunately I dont find it as good as double serum. I'll use it up though, but I'm not seeing any difference in my skin sadly.

I'll add the hydro boost to my list to try. Any other recommendations?

@Orf1abc Where did you buy the Neutrogena serum? I've been using the Clarins and like it but need something much cheaper.

HollowTalk · 20/06/2021 17:00

Sorry, just found it on Amazon. I'd get this but the bad reviews say it's no good for dry skin.

FreshFaceTime · 20/06/2021 17:42

If you love it, you love it.

Buy the bigger bottle of double serum. You'll spend more to begin with but it's better value.

Now you know how much you love it, save up and see if you can get a few bottles in the John Lewis sale or something?

I like the upcircle coffee serum.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 20/06/2021 17:47

DH got me the double serum for crimbo. It is expensive, but I would expect it to be much better for the price. As I'm still using it, I'm not sure, but when I have to replace it, I won't be buying the same one. Hopefully Santa will get me another one. I think I've seen an Olay one at Boots I might try next.

Double serum lasts for ages, I do like it

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 20/06/2021 18:19

Realise that isn't very clear. It is expensive, but it's good, but I would hope/expect it to be good for the price. I made my above sound like it isn't worth the money, which isn't what I meant.

Blossomtoes · 20/06/2021 18:51

There’s loads of the Clarins serum in sealed packaging on eBay right now for not much more than a Superdrug one. I’ve bought a lot of expensive branded skincare on there and (fingers crossed) it’s always been the real thing.

JinglingHellsBells · 20/06/2021 18:54

Clarins is all smoke and mirrors IMO.
Very £££ very perfumed, and not especially effective.

FreshFaceTime · 20/06/2021 19:05

@JinglingHellsBells personal preference though innit? As far as I'm aware there's no double serum dupe around so if you like it you're going to want to use it...

woodhill · 20/06/2021 19:07

It's hard to ascertain. Would my skin look any worse if didn't use it.

I use it at night
