Wedding shoes, help please!

I'm getting married in 8 weeks and haven't got any shoes to wear!

The dress is here

I am useless in heels so don't want anything too high, must be comfy and I will be walking from our hotel to the venue and then to the restaurant. I'd prefer not to spend too much more than £100 but would go to £150 for something really lovely.

Oh and closed-toe is a must; I hate my toes! TIA

Oh yes, weddings are one of those occasions when you want heels you can stand to wear all day!

I think these look good for walking etc, but they aren't terribly exciting maybe...

Your dress is stunning btw!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 26/05/2021 20:48

They do look as if they'd be very comfy @MaryTheMiddle, thank you! Although whilst I do like a simple style, I think maybe I'd like something with a tiny bit more detail...although I don't want to veer into blingy.

Thank you re: the dress, it was a last-minute panic purchase when I realised last week that actually I didn't really like the one I'd originally chosen! Luckily Ghost delivered in 24 hours, I was very impressed.

When I got married, many years ago I wore a low wedge shoe. I'd look for something similar but my links don't work. Dune have a few that may be suitable.

DuckyMcDuck · 26/05/2021 21:22

What size are you?
I've got a pair of LK Bennett ivory wedding shoes size 7 which you can have. If they're the right size, I can post a picture.

I had a pair of Emma Hope shoes - over budget but beautiful and comfortable

Oh those Ted Bakers are lovely.

As DH once said to me, wedding shoes, so much time, so little visability! But I get it, your dress is beautiful!!

LemonRoses · 26/05/2021 21:39

Our daughter had Harriet Wilde shoes. Very pretty and a peek of colour under her gown. No idea of cost but reasonably comfortable for all day wear.

Slimmingstar · 26/05/2021 21:39

I’m wearing silver glittery trainers. I’m wearing a very slinky, long, fitted lace-backed dress but I also want to be comfy.

IGoWalkingAfterMidnight · 26/05/2021 21:39

and do you have to have ivory?

These are marmite 😍

KnottedFern · 26/05/2021 21:42

I had Harriet Wilde shoes. They are the comfiest heels I've ever worn! The leather was so soft and buttery! They do all their styles in low heel aswell. I think mine were called delfina. I got them in the sale for £90 I think. They usually have very very good sales on!

Littlepaws18 · 26/05/2021 21:46

I bought some beautiful ballet type shoes from white ribbon. They are the most gorgeous shoes I've ever owned. And didn't take too long to come. www.thewhiteribbon.com

salbodoodlecat · 26/05/2021 21:47

I had the same wedding dress! I can't find my exact shoes but check out www.paradoxlondon.com. Mine were similar to the Aliz pair. They were a low heel and super comfy. I bought some flat ballet shoes to change into later but actually my shoes were so comfortable I didn't need to.

murbblurb · 26/05/2021 21:51

With an amazing dress like that, wear a pair of lightweight white trainers. Painful shoes show on faces. You also don't want to be staggering about markle-style when you could walk naturally and thus elegantly.

And you can wear them again.

Ballet shoes are crap for feet and also make you waddle.

MamaEs · 26/05/2021 21:54

Dune have a beautiful selection

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 26/05/2021 21:57

Oh lovely thank you all! Those Emma Hope ones are gorgeous but a bit spendy for me Grin

I do like the first asos ones actually. Will have a look at Harriet Wilde too.

@DuckyMcDuck that's so kind but I am a size 6 so they might not be a great fit? Thank you for the offer though!

No worries, they've been sitting in the wardrobe since my wedding. Im sure you'll soon find something to go with that gorgeous dress.

LemonRoses · 26/05/2021 22:30

These were our daughter’s. Very colourful and not for everyone, but only just peeked out occasionally from under her gown.

Wedding shoes, help please!
StCharlotte · 26/05/2021 22:36

Have you tried a dance shop? I got mine from there. Simple block heeled slingbacks but some of the ballroom shoes were a bit more blingy.

Heavenly dress BTW 😍
