Trim before wax?

Hope I've posted in the right place!

I want to go for a Brazilian wax. I've had them before but it was 5+ years ago. Since then I've gone 'au naturel' but I want to start waxing again.

Obviously in that time things have continued to grow and I'm rather ungroomed down there. So I'm wondering whether I should trim before going for the wax or just go and let the beautician have at it?

Help!

Trim it down to about an inch long. Otherwise it will hurt more.

Do not trim it!! If you trim it too short the wax has nothing to get hold of. If the therapist needs it shorter she’ll give it a trim beforehand

They only need a few cm to grab on to.

Having too much will be painful, take longer and make it harder to get a good pull thus risk breaking the hair.

Yes, but the therapist will do it with scissors if needed beforehand. Better to do that than take scissors to your own nether regions and accidentally give yourself a labiaectomy

Yikes. I hear you. I'll let them do what I'm paying them for! Thanks Grin
