Since the re opening of the charity shops, have you found any treasure? I'm planning on going in once everything calms down a bit more. Some local ones near to me have queues every time I pass by of at least 8 people outside. Last spring I had some nice straight leg J Crew green jeans. Am hoping for more useful bits.

Feel free to post photos too!!

I found a pair of Next knee length shorts for £4 . I was looking for some anyway for holiday.

I work in a Charity shop so have access at all times but I did go further afield on my day off and found a lovely red, flowered Monsoon top for £5 today.
I've just tried it on and I am very happy with it.

We have some excellent local charity shops (upmarket town).

However they are pretty savvy so price good stuff quite high. One has a separate “designer” rail for anything designer or higher end of the high street, eg Reiss, Whistles etc

Most times I visit a charity shop I come out with something. I get loads of nice JoJo Maman/Baby Boden dresses for DD, these will normally be £2-£5.

Recent buys for me include a NW3 (Hobbs) skirt for a fiver & some Ash trainers for a tenner.

In the next town along there’s a charity shop where they have a donor who regularly gives huge piles of brand new with tags or hardly worn clothes, including high end brands. On a couple of occasions I have been lucky enough to visit shortly after this lady has donated. I spent around £100 each time but came away with LK Bennett silk dress, Jigsaw cashmere, and various Whistles and Reiss items. I asked the staff if the lady is someone famous but they wouldn’t say Wink

Linen jacket (men’s) for DS (Gap) £3
Really nice new black knee length linen skirt but on bias from M&S £2

ILoveShula · 26/05/2021 21:11

A few weeks ago got some sandals by Ssh H**s for £2. They look almost as good as new.

Squiz81 · 26/05/2021 21:21

Sale rail in my local I got a Monsoon dress, a Boden dress and an H&M beach cover up for £8 all in. All in great condition and look good on.

Hospice clearance warehouse charity shop - for £1 I got DS a Monsoon smart jacket, a Regatta raincoat, Lee Cooper shirt and Next jumper - all 4 for £1!! Plus they sell books 6 for £1 so I took advantage of that too. I got myself a vintage skirt, which is cool but a bit tight on me - it’s a 14 and I’m an 8 in current sizing 🤪

I got a lovely striped pure silk vest top today for £4 in my local hospice shop

CarnationCat · 26/05/2021 23:10

Not a charity shop but I got 5 t-shirts (Jack Wills, Superdry, Billabong) for £4 from a carboot sale.

Londonmummy66 · 26/05/2021 23:23

Me & Em knitted cardigan/top for £4....

chickensafari · 27/05/2021 06:41

I've always loved a charity shop but since lockdown I've been living in the same five outifts and just don't feel the buzz of 'new' clothes any more. It just feels like clutter now in a way it didn't before. It's strange!

Juancornetto · 27/05/2021 07:16

I've missed the charity shops so much! Apart from shoes and undies I try and only buy 2nd hand but prefer getting things from actual shops to online. Recently I've found a red leather unused m&s bag for £4 . Black and white Abercrombie & Fitch t shirt for £3 and a grey John Lewis ribbed top - still with its £35 price tag on - for £5

TeaAddict235 · 27/05/2021 15:13

Those goodies all sound exciting. I had anticipated a lot being donated during the lockdown, but I hadn't anticipated my local ones still having queues outside in the mornings when I drive past.

I know what you mean @chickensafari, but I feel like the best is yet to come in terms of the freedom of style and fashion as a result of the lockdowns.

You lucky beastie @Lostinthewilderness !! Which county did you say...? Wink

Charity shops near us are usually terrific but since lockdowns the quality of items is not as good as usual, although they seem to have lots of stock. I'm not sure what is going on, maybe people haven't been buying new and just clearing lofts etc of old clothes. The exception seems to be smart business wear and special occasion items- heels, party dresses etc which presumably isn't needed to so much at the moment.

whataboutbob · 27/05/2021 21:07

Saw a nice hat in a charity shop last weekend, but it was £250 😯. Ok it was Philip Treacy, but even so!

DistrictCommissioner · 27/05/2021 21:52

I love charity shops so much.

One near me puts all the kids clothes into two travel cots, everything a £1. I have to obsessively check every single item in there at least once a week.

Got all sorts in there - Hollister, Abercrombie, Fat Face, Boden, Zara - just some determined rummaging!

agent27 · 28/05/2021 11:03

I'm in Edinburgh on holiday and trawling charity shops in the posh suburbs.

So far I've Got some chocolate brown wool and cashmere hobbs trousers that fit really well, and some brown doc martens boots (in a nice soft leather (not the plasticky shiny leather that lots of docs are made from).

I think it's a good time to go as people decluttered and the shops had time for sorting and clearance in lockdown.

gindreams · 28/05/2021 11:12

@agent27

Oh what areas due to Edinburgh soon

GillBiggeloesHair · 28/05/2021 11:13

Ladies Tommy Hilfiger T-shirt, 6 EUR. Immaculate.

agent27 · 28/05/2021 11:42

@gindreams
Morningside, and also Stockbridge are my favourite hunting grounds.

Lots in the south side and old town around the greyfriars bobby area and there are also vintage shops like Herman brown.

gindreams · 28/05/2021 19:28

@agent27

Thanks I shall check them out ! Can't wait
