Can anyone recommend a foundation?

Back story, I'm rubbish with make up, and don't have flawless skin, but no spots.. Looking for something, not full coverage, but just something to make me look slightly more polished and put together in a natural way. Has to be easy to use too. I sometimes wear mascara, I keep my brows nice (threaded, tinted), and occasionally some powder. I'm off down town tomorrow, so if anyone can recommend something I can look at I would be very grateful. Thank you!

Might be helpful if we knew your skin type. It sounds like a skin tint would work well for you, but generally they are more geared to be suitable for drier skin types. I'm oily and I want a skin tint, but haven't found one which works for us oily skinned girls.

I like the IT cosmetic CC cream, I use the matte formulation, but they also have standard version and an extra dewy version. It can be built up to a good medium coverage but can also be applied in a way which is more sheer, you can see my freckles through it.

I have dry skin and love the Estée Lauder Futurist foundation. You can ask for a sample at the counter. I got a 5 ml bottle that lasted me for ages. It's lightweight but can be buildable.

Erborian! BB cream for a matte look, CC cream for a slightly lighter coverage. Both light, apply with fingers and just evens and blurs the skin. I'm not sure if they're stocked in store any where but they sell small sizes to try.

I definitely would recommend the IT Cosmetics CC foundation. I absolutely love it. You can now get it in a smaller/travel size so you could try it without spending on the full size. That's what I did, and was so impressed I bought the full size when it ran out.

Thanks all. I should have added that I have oily skin.

I dont like full coverage and I've just bought TRINNY'S BFF serum which has coverage. A little goes a long way. It's the best I've had in years. They do a skin tone matching thing which is great.

Do you want a Matt finish or a sheen?

IDontKnowHowToBeBetter · 25/05/2021 20:33

I don't know to be honest, probably a little sheen, but not huge.

I have oily skin and use mineral foundation - Bare Minerals are good, or Love the Planet do a zero waste one you can buy online. Gives a great no makeup look.

The Estée Lauder website is brilliant for different looks for foundation and if you order the wrong colour they will change it for free. I use double wear light as it's really light, gives a slight sheen and I then use a bronzer with a slight sparkle over the top.

Ooh I've recently discover Erborian. I had a tester of the redness correcting version abs I love it!

I like the Bare Minerals complexion rescue tinted moisturiser.

Lovely texture and a good light coverage.

As Pp have mentioned the IT cosmetics cc cream is lovely too.

Boots no 7 Hydroluminous. Sounds like it might be too shiny for oily skin but its good on mine

WinoLino · 27/05/2021 11:28

Another recommendation for the Bare Minerals complexion rescue just mentioned. Apply by dabbing with a beauty blender and you will get a gorgeous natural finish. I love it
