The best hair straightener?

My ghd's have just given up on me. I actually good mileage out of this pair, they've lasted a good 4 or 5 years! Back when I first started buying them they were widely known as the only ones worth getting so I never bothered to research.

Before I splash out on a new pair, I wanted to see if there might be a straightener I'm missing out on. Is there a straightener you really rate that isn't a ghd?

Kipozi wide plates, my ghd died on me and they were recommended on here.

I bought a Steampod earlier this year and as result gave my brand new GHD away to my niece. I have quite thick, curly/frizzy hair and find the Steampod excellent. It brought me through lockdown and while the colour and length were bad at least it wasn't wild! I find the Steampod really easy to use and can't praise it enough!! (Note: I really don't work for Steampod)
My sis-in-law bought a Dyson Airwrap - I found it wasn't strong enough for my hair, but she does like it!

I got over 10 years out of my GHD - changed to Clit

Cloud nine Blush

The cloud nine are better IMO

Fruityfriday · 24/05/2021 17:37

Cloud 9 for me also

ChristmasCovid · 24/05/2021 18:17

My hairdresser insists cloud nine are the best and they’re the only ones she will use. Don’t think she’s on commission with them, so they are probably good as she’s a perfectionist.

PeteWicksSexyPirate · 24/05/2021 18:30

I recommend cloud9 too. Ghd was bought out and has been shit since. The company who originally made ghd are the makers of cloud9 so they’re kind of like the OG ghd’s Smile

Thank you! Will check all these out Smile

Another vote for Kipozi wide plates - a lot cheaper that GHDs ( which I have used for about 20 years) but they are amazing.

I've just got some cloud 9 wide plates.
I find I have to grip them together quite hard when I'm using them.

I do like them though.

Dinnertime22 · 25/05/2021 07:04

I have just replaced mine with Cloud nine. They had an offer online with some decent free gifts in too.

MadisonAvenue · 25/05/2021 07:20

I’ve got wide plate Cloud 9 straighteners and love them, my hairdresser was raving about them at my appointment yesterday too.

SaborDeSoledad · 25/05/2021 08:38

Cloud 9 are amazing! Good customer service too.

MrsMaizel · 25/05/2021 09:00

I got Cloud 9 last year and love them . I can do my hair so quickly with them and hair feels great .
