M&S jeans sizing Lily?

I don’t live anywhere near a M&S so need to order online. I’m looking at buying a pair of their Lily slim jeans with stretch. Is their sizing generous? One of my current pair of jeans is a size 12 petite from Tu and I would usually automatically go for a size 12 but checking the measurements guide (which I don’t always find accurate) I would place just outside the size 12.

Has anyone got any of their jeans recently? Also do you recommend?

The Lily jeans are very stretchy - too stretchy for me. You should be ok in a 12 or maybe a 10.

The wash was nice but I'm blessed with a big tum and the stretchiness highlighted it. I'm a size 14 and the 14 was a comfy fit on me.

I got some Sienna straight legs and they're much better on me, although the wash isn't as nice.

I’ve got their Harper jeans which are stretchy and I’ve sized down. I love them!

I think with m and s it can be best to size down for jeans but I honestly haven’t tried this specific style but all other styles I go down one.

I have found the sizing to be a bit inconsistent, could you order a few of pairs and return the ones that don’t fit?

honeyandbutterontoast · 23/05/2021 08:12

It depends on the colour of them. I have a dark pair that are a perfect fit. A pale pair that are more snug. Bought a black pair last week and they won’t do up 😆

I bought a pair recently in my normal size (10) and although the waist etc was fine, I found them far too clingy because of all the stretch. It wasn’t a sizing issues - just the style of the jeans. I’d been hoping for a more relaxed slim fit but the stretch made them just like skinny jeans with a looser ankle. I know lots of other people love them though. I would try your usual size first with them.

I really like the Lily but they’re more skinny than slim I’d say. On sizing it’s reasonably accurate, perhaps a tiny bit on the larger size round the waist.

I'm a size 8-10 and usually wear a 10 in skinny jeans. I have the Lily in 10 and they are slim fit on me, not skinny, which is what I wanted. I could fit in an 8, but wanted a slightly looser fit and the 10 are not really stretched on me.

M&S jeans are true to size. Not like places like H&M and Zara, which are teeny tiny, or like Next which are massive.
If you're a 12 in Next, you'll be an 8-10 in M&S
If you're a 12 in Zara, you'll be a 14 in M&S
Etc.

I have these - I am between a 14 and a 16 and the Lily size 14 fits me perfectly. But with jeans it's always down to fit more than sizing.

lindyloo57 · 23/05/2021 16:00

I have two pair of lily's a light wash and slightly darker wash both size 10 my normal size, I think they do vary the black ones were too tight for me.

Noapplejustcrumble · 23/05/2021 19:29

I think they’re quite true to size. I have a Lily size 12, but the M&S slim jeans in a 10.
