Hi all,

Looking to invest in a decent primer. I’ve really upped my skincare game, have found a foundation I like but am just not happy with how it looks at the end of the day (bit blotchy and cakes) and wondered if a decent primer might help. Trinny’s miracle blur keeps catching my eye for the claims of blurring fine lines which would be amazing too! Any good? Or something else? Thank you!

The Ordinary Silicone Primer is the absolute queen of all primers as far as I'm concerned. I use it with their serum foundation and it makes my skin sheer and flawless but not heavily made up. It somehow makes it look like your skin is subtly glowing.

It's cheap too, so I regret every penny I ever spent on Urban Decay and Benefit Porefessional!

I recently bought an Armani one and it is Great. I hate really siliconey ones and this fills the wrinkles slightly ans smooths everything and leaves a lovely surface but doesn’t dry out the skin or feel like it’s sitting on my skin. Really recommend

As far as products actually labelled as primers go, I like Rimmel Lasting Finish the best. Have tried loads but always have a tube of this on the go. A decent product for a decent price.

I also like using Clarins beauty flash balm as a primer (not actually sure what it's meant to be - moisturiser? Primer? Who knows! - it smells lush so I don't care!)

I've recently discovered Superdrug brightening radiance balm, which is similar to the Clarins one but obviously much cheaper. It's lovely and I will repurchase but I do prefer the smell of the Clarins one so I'm saving that for special occasions Grin
