6th form summer ball dress, ideas.....

lovely dd is searching for a dress for a summer ball. Seems they are all going short instead of prom style. Wants a pastel blue colour.

Any ideas???

this is what she wanted but I thought too short. Am I overreacting??

It is not up to you though. Lots at dc school would wear similar.

When DD was at school the year 11 prom dresses were OTT ballgowns (not DD's though)
The girls mostly wore short dresses at the year 13 prom, but they weren't as revealing as the one in the OP's link.

DD wore a black bodycon dress with a cream lace upper half.

thanks, no not up to me but didn't want her to stand out in a not so good way. I suppose I was expecting a much more expensive dress when I compare this to prom dresses we were looking a pre-covid.

thanks Sunnysausage-exactly how I feel, so revealing. Think if it was a short dress and find but the ohpolly feels too revealing.

Yes Yr11 were def prom style but that was all missed last year so this year all going short it seems.
No problem with that just wanted something less revealing but lost as to where to tell her to look.

Any ideas as she is not exactly coming up with any others

What about Chi Chi London? They've got lots of varying styles for prom/occasion. You can filter by length, style etc. I'd have posted a couple but tablet won't let me annoyingly.
