Dry clean only

Which clothes do you accept as dry clean only?

I have bought a new summer coat ( mistake considering current weather).

Didn’t realise about wash instructions but I love it :(

Often this is a disclaimer against shrinkage. I have dresses which are dry clean only, allegedly, which l machine wash regularly at 30 degrees.

I’d feel less sure about a coat. What type of fabric is it? Does it have any particularly fancy buttons or trimmings?

I machine wash most 'dry clean only' clothes.

I've washed plenty of dry clean only things either by hand, or using a delicate machine cycle. Just depends what it is, if it looks robust enough then I will generally wash it myself. Wouldn't risk it with anything super expensive or fragile though.

The coat is only viscose! I washed a suit ones on delicate but it shrunk and went an odd texture :(

Think I will
Keep it and the hand wash if needed.

I accept none as dry clean only any more. I used to work in a dry cleaners and it’s put me off a bit, the thought of my stuff sloshing around with some of the smelly suits that came in
