Best cheap face cream

I've found myself in an awful spot financially and need to downgrade my face cream. I've always used Clarins, the one with the blue lid.

I tried the Lidl face cream but it felt like putting suncream on - didn't sink in

Any tips?

The Lidl serum is excellent. I'd try Boots or Superdrug own ranges, but I know plenty of women who rave about the Lacura range from Aldi.

Lovely, will go sample!

Aldi caviar range gets good reviews on here and they had a gift set for £12.99 when I went in a few days ago. It looked good value.

The Boots No7 Protect & Perfect range is good. Gift sets or 3 for 2 can make them more affordable. Boots & Superdrug have different skincare for various budgets, all of which will be OK but not Clarins.

Not cheap but the Body Shop Drops of Youth range (?) is really nice.

I also like the Dr Organics stuff from Holland & Barrett.

ELF superhydrate is really nice, it sinks in quick and feels refreshing.

A heavier cream option is The Ordinary natural moisturising factors + HA. I like this at night or if I feel dry.

I havent tried them but friends really rate The Inkey List.

Cetaphil is really good and a tube lasts a long time.

This is my favourite face cream. I could afford much more expensive but this is the one I choose. It's fairly rich so if you're skin is greasy better avoid.

Monsteraobliqua · 20/05/2021 13:34

Superdrug's own ranges are really decent for the money and cruelty free.

Aldi "Caviar" cream is lovely and the price is great.

I use Vanicream Moisturising Lotion. It's not expensive at about £9 a bottle and it's free of silicone and other nasties.

I buy it off Amazon. I'm 51 and find it effective enough for my skin's needs right now. I do still use a serum, but I really like this product to finish off.

Nivea blue pot for night time. Might be a bit greasy for day time

savvy7 · 20/05/2021 14:10

Garnier Organic Lavandin if your skin is dry

whosappleman · 20/05/2021 14:32

Thanks everyone, feel spoiled for choice!

Superdrug vitamin E cream is lovely....and cheap Smile

I love Nivea soft. I’ve linked below but you can pick it up in a supermarkets. It came top on some beauty programme with Cherry Healey a while back where they sample high end, mid range and cheap. I think it was because it has a high glycerin content.

Try the classic olay. Pink bottle

Just ordered the inky list vitamin moisturiser, fingers crossed it will be good. The ordinary is also cheap and highly rated but none of the moisturisers appealed to me
