Stylish waterproof jacket?

dancingbroccoli · 20/05/2021 07:39

I am looking for a nice waterproof jacket that is lightweight that I could wear out on a dog walk and also out shopping

I found the joules Taunton which I thought could be ok but I am only 5ft 1 so chances are it'll be far too long for me!!

Any suggestions? I have been looking for ages 😓

Sea salt do lovely ones. They also have a petite range.

Protected Species are a good mix of stylish and waterproof.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I think I'll need to order a few and keep them all see what looks best

Hi OP. On the back of one of the threads here a while ago I bought this. I'm also 5 foot 1 and with the arms folded up (which looks really nice) it's perfect for what you describe I get a few comments on it!

I hanker after a black Rains jacket. Literally just a waterproof, but my neighbour always looks swish in hers.

TiddleTaddleTat · 20/05/2021 08:21

I'm in the market for one too. I have a lovel didriksons one but it's a bit small.
The joules/Boden/sea salt ones aren't really my style. I'd like something pretty classic without stripy or spotty lining. Harder to find than I thought.

I second the Rains suggestion, after ordering a few including Protected Species. It is thin though so make sure you have room for an extra layer.

I discovered Lighthouse recently. They have loads of nice raincoats.

Lunaballoon · 20/05/2021 08:35

Do either of these float your boat Hunter or Tog24?

jenesaisqu0i · 20/05/2021 08:36

@beebopawhop where does this fall on you? I'm also looking for one and love your suggestion.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/05/2021 09:38

I've got 2 Rains coats (long puffer and long belted parka type) so adding my recommendation for those!

I love this. Is it very warm though? I tend to get hot because I walk a lot. But so classic.

Squiz81 · 20/05/2021 10:14

@TiddleTaddleTat I just got this in the navy

Classic without the spots/stripes. Haven’t tested it in the rain yet but pleased with it when I popped out yesterday, very lightweight, and I love the ethos of this brand. I bought it as one of their bundles so all worked out cheaper

scarfaceace · 20/05/2021 10:16

I've just bought this and really like it. It's a great fit and I'm 5' 1".

@Squiz81 ooh thanks I do like that! Especially the yellow

Hiya @jenesaisqu0i it falls just mid thigh at the front slightly longer at the back as that's the design!

Beebopawhop · 20/05/2021 12:00

@Frequentflier oh it is warm for sure yesterday I walked quite a bit and had to mid way take off my thin hoodie and wore a thing t shirt with the jacket and a small backpack so it does get warm yes! But lovely on and actually rain proof hood stays up etc there was a code a while back so got a discount too!

jenesaisqu0i · 20/05/2021 12:49

Thank you! @Beebopawhop I couldn't find my size online but managed to find it on their ebay store so I've ordered one. Hopefully it fits! 😊
