Is this too white...

For a wedding? The cut is very flattering but I suspect this colourway may not be appropriate. Thoughts welcome!

i prefer the mint over the white tbh

supercee · 19/05/2021 12:53

Definitely the mint.

MyHusbandTheIdiot · 19/05/2021 12:53

Definitely not too white, and massively prefer the white/blue to the green 😬

Yellowhighheels · 19/05/2021 12:55

I think it's fine, actually, the blue is quite predominant, especially with the darker accents. Usual advice applies: non white accessories and jacket/ wrap if wearing.

If it's the cut you like then the mint is a nice bright option too.

TortoiseShed · 19/05/2021 12:59

I also prefer the mint, but don't think the white is too white for a wedding really. And I never wear white to weddings!

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/05/2021 13:31

The white/blue is way nicer than the green and perfect for a wedding. (Watch out for the too-white-for-a-wedding brigade any time now though…)

Thatswhatmamasaid · 19/05/2021 13:59

Thank you ladies for your responses so far, I really appreciate it! It's for a church wedding in the middle of July, followed by a meal at a restaurant. I have accessories which match the white/blue version which is why I was leaning towards that.

Happy to hear more comments 🙂.

It really isn't too white imo. So based on your last post, I would go for it Smile

QwertyGirly · 19/05/2021 14:02

The cut helps as well. Lovely tea dress and not at all wedding dress-like. You could have a nice navy cardigan to go with it too.

AnaViaSalamanca · 19/05/2021 14:09

I don’t think it’s too white, but frankly way way too expensive for what it is.

idontlikealdi · 19/05/2021 14:24

I don't think it's too white at all

Palavah · 19/05/2021 14:27

How much??

It's not too white and it's a nice dress.

Thatswhatmamasaid · 19/05/2021 14:40

I agree, expensive for what it is. I'm thinking of renting out on a website like Hurr to recoup some of the cost back. I've searched and searched and this style was the best I've found by far!

It’s nice and not particularly white. For the love of God, don’t be tempted to put a cardigan anywhere near it!

SummaLuvin · 19/05/2021 14:49

I think it's probably fine and 99.999% of people wouldn't bat an eyelid, but honestly, I wouldn't bother and would find something without a white background. It's the only colour you have to avoid, and I tend to be overly cautious with not upsetting a bride on her wedding day, just incase she is that 0.001% that care. I have also been at weddings where I have heard quite bitchy comments made towards a guest in a white background dress, which must have been quite uncomfortable for them.

RampantIvy · 19/05/2021 14:54

It's a lovely dress, but I wouldn't class it as a maxi dress. It's a midi.

TinToms · 20/05/2021 19:35

I am the first one to jump on when I think a white background dress is not appropriate, to the point where people get irritated. It's the hill I will die on. But in my opinion this one is FINE, the pattern is v dominant. And a nice dress! Don't really like the mint colour.

Tini17 · 21/05/2021 04:11

@Thatswhatmamasaid Sam Cam has a ‘Cefinn Mix’ range in Next and there are a couple of this cut in there in bright colours if you are looking for an alternative. They are super comfortable, good weight to the fabric and about a third of the cost.

PrimeraVez · 21/05/2021 04:34

I think it’s fine for a wedding although I would wear dark accessories/shoes to bring out that colour more.

And PLEASE don’t wear a bloody cardigan with it!!

EnglishRain · 21/05/2021 04:35

The blue pattern is very dense so I think this one is OK personally. Also massively prefer the white and blue, but I'm super pale and couldn't carry off the mint!

Toilenstripes · 21/05/2021 04:43

It’s a beautiful dress. A cardigan might be a bit frumpy and hopefully you won’t need an outer layer in July.

NewMatress · 21/05/2021 06:30

No definitely not too white, I like both colours. The mint better for a wedding probably, but I'd get more wear out of the blue so I'd go for that!

NewMatress · 21/05/2021 06:32

I was going to ask if you knew the brand because it looks like a very nice dress for the money, then I realised it's £340 not £34 Grin

bonfireheart · 21/05/2021 07:07

Not too white. Very pretty dress.
No to the mint.

Mellonsprite · 21/05/2021 07:45

It’s lovely, and a very nice shape.
Now can anyone find a cheaper, bigger sized one to suit my budget ? Grin
