Birkenstock - My feet are TOO Big ...

who knew ..... I have worn before - I thought a 39 or a 40 - so I went online to their website - followedthe instructions for how to measure your feet & entered the details:

"Your size specifications exceed the allowable limit. "

is the answer I get - even if I fib & put in my DS13 size I get the same answer - does Birkenstock not like me Sad

In case anyone reading this thinks I have big feet I do have wide feet but can get normal other brands to fit .. I was measuring as I will not have the opportunity to try in store so wanted to get it right rather than having to pay to return wrong size ....

What size shoes do you typically wear? I had to size down in Birkenstocks and I've found the online size "guide" to be completely rubbish. I'm sure your feet are not too big! Most styles are unisex for one thing :)

Either 6.5 or occasionlally for a trainer /boot a 7

I just gave it a try and got the same message. I expect the website is, to use the technical term, buggered.

It only seems to work if your foot length and width indicate the same size as each other, so if you have feet wider or narrower than they think you should for the length it returns the error message.

Which is pretty useless as you could just look at the size chart for that!

chatw0o0 · 19/05/2021 01:58

My feet are the same size and I take 6 in Birkenstock (Madrid style).

Mellonsprite · 19/05/2021 19:04

I buy a 40 which is 6.5/7 so I think it’s likely to be a temporary website issue.

ILoveShula · 19/05/2021 19:25

Mine are too big too. I have size 3 madrid ones that fit me just fine.

TortoiseShed · 19/05/2021 20:49

I am usually a 40, (so 6.5-7), and have a pair of Birkenstocks which I bought in my usual size and they're fine Smile

They do a narrow fit for narrower feet, so go for the other ones if your feet are wider.

I've been buying a pair ecah summer for about 15 years. I wear a 7 and have average width for my size. I have to wear the strap on 2nd tightest strap. So I think your feet will definitely fit.
