Is it a terrible thing to have found a white eyelash?

I am used to having the odd white (I mean colourless really, rather than actively grey) eyebrow - I pluck them out with glee.

But what can I do about the white eyelash I have just spotted? It would be madness to remove this, surely? And painful!

Anyone else had this? Is it the start of a slippery slope? I am in my late 50s btw but lashes and brows are still black and always have been!

Surely you just leave it?

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 18/05/2021 12:10

You can't start going about plucking out your eyelashes OP! Just slap a coat of mascara on them and be done with it. If you don't use mascara (it's so quick and easy I don't know why you wouldn't) but you could always look at eyelash tinting if lots more started to appear

Yh I guess I am going to have to use mascara every day, bit of a pain as I swim and run...

Aayone else had this tho?

I also wouldn’t pull out white eyebrow hairs op, at some point you’ll have loads and plucking them out will result in very sparse eyebrows! I have lots of white eyebrow hairs but I dye them

Palavah · 18/05/2021 12:24

Don't be so silly.

Smoothsoul · 18/05/2021 12:44

Get an eyelash and brow tint.

thedevilinablackdress · 18/05/2021 12:51

Pull it out??? Dear God no. Hello eye-infection.
No-one will notice it. It's not a slippery slope to anything.

ashmts · 18/05/2021 12:55

I've had a white eyelash since I was about 25. Just the one. I get them tinted every few months but obviously haven't been able to through covid and it never really bothered me. Definitely tint rather than rely on mascara if you exercise a lot.

FeistySheep · 18/05/2021 12:56

I had a white eyelash a few years ago. Pulled it out and it never came back!

Nooo is that true? I am old and my hair on my head is very grey, but so far my eyebrows are very much black, apart from literally one or two hairs.

Glad it doesn't sound like a slippery slope to white eyelashes tho.

I'm wincing at the thought of someone plucking an eyelash. Accept it as a lucky omen, or have your eyelashes tinted to avoid swimming/running/mascara situation.

janlevinson · 18/05/2021 14:15

Do not try to pluck it out, you could cause an infection and it will be verrry painful.
I'm sure no-one will notice it but if it's bothering you then a good lash tint will cover it.

Bluesheep8 · 18/05/2021 14:31

I wouldn't go to the trouble of having all your eyelashes tinted because of one white one. I also don't think anyone will notice it. Eyelashes fall out and re grow anyway don't they? It probably won't even be there in a week.

Everyoneknows · 18/05/2021 19:12

Yep op, mostly I think white eyebrows are he same as white hair. You start off with a few and get more and more

changedusername2021 · 18/05/2021 19:14

I dye my eyebrows and eyelashes myself.I bought the kit from Amazon really cheaply and it's so simple to do.

MolotovMocktail · 18/05/2021 19:19

I get the odd one, I just pluck them out 🤷🏻‍♀️ not overly painful and never had an infection.

NeverEnoughCake2 · 18/05/2021 22:27

I'm blonde enough that I've always had a few white eyelashes. Mascara or a lash tint sort them out just fine. Also, I suspect they're much more noticeable to those of us who have them than to any observer!
