If they don’t go what shoes would you recommend

Personally, no. Same shoes in the same colour as the dress would.

But what do I know? If you like them, wear them Smile

MichelleScarn · 18/05/2021 10:03

Are the shoes a bluey colour?

wwysd · 18/05/2021 10:10

No to matching shoes!

I love pink and blue together.

As long as the colours complement each other, and the fabrics are similar (or at least don't clash) then go for it!

LuckyMcDucky · 18/05/2021 10:12

I'm not sure they do... I think it's the colour / tone maybe? The dress looks quite warm toned and the shoes quite cool toned.

I'd go gold I think, or rose gold.

Something like this maybe?

Cleverpolly3 · 18/05/2021 10:17

If I could wear a dress like that I wouldn’t worry about the shoes nobody would be looking Grin

I actually think the shoes go and definitely yes to a different colour.
The same shade would make it look very boudoir

Cleverpolly3 · 18/05/2021 10:19

I don’t think a full closed back court or stiletto show would go personally. A bit “heavy”

I like the sling backs or even a peep toe.
Not sure about strappy shoes/ sandals though

LuckyMcDucky · 18/05/2021 10:20

Yes, I think I know what you mean re the closed back...

I do think maybe metallic or possibly nude or cream. I think the darker blue isn't quite right.

Out of stock, but maybe something like these?

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 18/05/2021 10:25

I don't mind the colour so much, but agree with other people's advice on colour as well. I think any of the suggested would go as would that colour. I like the contrast. But.... no closed toe with that dress. That shoe leaves me feeling like it's a bit dated and heavy for the dress. From what I recall you're quite young. Don't do a sling back closed toe. If you want a closed to do a regular pump high heel type of shoe, but my preference would be a strappy heeled sandal.

espressoontap · 18/05/2021 10:28

I think they look great.

wwysd · 18/05/2021 10:28
Hideous
BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 18/05/2021 10:29

I agree that I would do an open strappy sandal if I were going to do a dress like that.

What's the occasion, for interest?

Overwhelmed245 · 18/05/2021 10:29

I wanted high heel Sandals originally but couldn’t find any Also they often don’t work with the shape of my feet I’ve got until august to find some so I will have a think

Formal court shoes like that are rather dated now. Strappy sandals are much more modern

LuckyMcDucky · 18/05/2021 10:31

@wwysd Grin.

imnottoofussed · 18/05/2021 10:37

I like them if you can get a bag to match the shoes even better

Roodicus21 · 18/05/2021 10:39

I like them and actively try not to match things too much as it looks a bit dated.

LuckyMcDucky · 18/05/2021 10:46

You could maybe even go a bit darker with the blue, so navy rather than dusky blue.

I wouldn't match shoes with handbag really. I always feel like he queen if my shoes and bag match!

CafeMochaVodkaValiumLate · 18/05/2021 10:50

I like them, yes. Matchy match has seen its day, a long time ago too.

The shoes def work.

Kjr33 · 18/05/2021 10:51

If you google pink satin dress and go to images you can see some ideas, seems to be a lot of “barely there” shoes eg nude/strappy or Perspex I think I would go for Perspex with a low ish clunky heel to make it look more “fashion” I think that dress is in danger of looking a tad “try hard” if you aren’t careful.

ShirleyPhallus · 18/05/2021 11:00

Nooooo.... matching shoes and bag is well dated!
LuckyMcDucky · 18/05/2021 11:03

I like the barely there idea or a stark contrast. I feel like the dusky blue ones in the op are neither of those and a bit wishy washy as a result.

But personal taste blah blah Smile

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 18/05/2021 11:35

Yeah. I think matchy shoes and bag on this dress would look a bit... Bet Lynch/80s barmaid.

Hoppinggreen · 18/05/2021 11:37

Nobody is going to look at your feet.
However, I don’t think the blue shoes do go
