Shopping for jacket for the summer/denim/should I size up

I'm shopping online for a new jacket for the summer. My summer jacket is about 4 and half years old.

I am looking at a denim jacket online and I like the look of it. Its an ombre colour.

I am a size 20 to 22. I lost weight last summer and went down to size 18. Then I put it back on again over the winter. I do hope to get back on the sadlle again to lose weight. The jacket comes in different sizes. The sizes available for me are

  • size 20
  • size 22 to 24 - the next size up from 20.

What size do you think I should get?

I think a size 20 won't close on the belly for me. I think the next size up will be too big in the shoulders and arms for me.

I'd definitely say size up! Smile

I thought they were supposed to be on the small side...not so much a jacket as a throw (with sleeves) to keep the chill off, so no need to ever do them up.

It's completely impossible to advise you without knowing your body shape, where you carry weight, etc. And because of the variety in sizing across brands.

But if in doubt, always size up. Better a little loose than unwearable.

Is you have the funds available order both ?

It depends on the jacket, I'm a busty 18 so often need to go a size bigger in non stretch fabrics by my new denim jacket is a size 18 and has plenty of room, no it's not an oversized one.

Don't ever buy to diet into. It rarely happens. And if you do lose weight, the clothes you bought don't always look right as your shape changed.

I usually size down in jackets and coats because I have narrow shoulders and I don't tend to do them up, but that's just me.
