Best non-smudge volume mascara

I like a lot of volume from my eyelashes, I did false lashes for a while but didn't like the damage they cause. I'm looking for a really good volume mascara in black that doesn't make me look like a panda after a few hours. I don't mind splurging a bit for a good one!

Clinique mascaras are really good - don’t smudge, do build, not cheap but not crazy.

There is always a trade of between tubing mascaras which don’t smudge - they don’t give such enormous volume, but it can be good.

If you are really hardcore you can use a traditional volume mascara for first coat, and then a tubing mascara to lock it.
