Ballet flats

I've seen lots of comments on this forum about how passé ballet flats and I'm now concerned.....

At this time of year I live in 3/4 length smart trousers and ballet flats

I'm tall with disproportionately long legs and slim ankles- if it makes any difference. I hanker after the chic Parisian look.

So do I throw my ballet flats away? And if so what do I wear instead?

I got a pair of black Croc effect ones from Carvela about 6 months ago in the sale because they were too good a price to pass up. And tbh I had been to a funeral last summer (during an ease in lockdown) and saw someone wearing them with a little black dress and she looked fab. I suddenly got a fit of nostalgia for ballet flats and all that chic French thing.

Have to admit that I haven't worn them yet as I don't see them around at the moment worn casually.

I possibly should have bought flat Mary Jane's instead as they seem cooler at the moment.

Slides could be a great more modern alternative, available in casual and dressy finishes. I really like these dune ones with the quilting and squared toe. www.dunelondon.com/novi-quilted-mules-black-0086504510006484/
