Tricks for tucking in tops?

Think this is mainly another hourglass problem, but does anyone have any tips for tucking in tops? Even with a more slim and streamlined top, when I go to tuck them into the waist of my trousers there is sooo much fabric bunching all around at the waist. It looks really sloppy. Aside from having each shirt altered by a tailor (not an option for me) is there a way to perhaps strategically fold and pleat at the back or sides to help tuck in so it doesn't look like such a mess of fabric bunching around at the waist?

On a side note I really can't stand how boxy and oversized everything is at the moment.

My husband (!) wers some weird shurtsuspender/garters on his legs that he clips to his shirts which stops them riding up. Maybe they could help to at least keep the tops taut?

Is that what those are?! I've seen them in movies and wondered if what they were.

Not glamorous but you can tuck into high waisted knickers then out trousers/skirt on. The top stays in place a bit better that way.

I'm sorry but I cannot imagine how I would use those to help lol. I know what you're talking about, but can't wrap my head around how I'm meant to use them to tuck my top in.

I only wear thongs, so afraid that's not going to help. Also I'm not sure how much it would help with the bulk ones of the fabric still left showing above the waist and of my trousers which is the issue

I have the exact same problem. But no solution. The only thing I have found to do is get cropped tops for under a jumper and then get a small sized and fitted jumper to tuck in
