I've let myself go big time. Help me get back on track!

I did well during lockdown last year - did Couch to 5K, lost 1.5 stone, all good. Then, last Summer I injured my foot, so the exercise has had to stop. Then gradually from about November onwards I started putting the weight back on again, so I'm now a stone heavier.

That aside, my hair is terrible. Menopause has led to my hair thinning, home colouring has made it dry as a bone Sad.

My epilator has broken, so I have monkey legs.

But basically I just can't be bothered because it all seems too much to deal with.

Please can someone help me (or maybe even join me) in trying to get my old self back? I need a kick up the arse and some kind of routine I think.

Thanks Vipers.

hello me.wanna team up?

Bookaholic73 · 15/05/2021 14:24

I am definitely up for some support and encouragement with this.
I’ve put on weight, barely shave my legs anymore, and I’ve turned into someone I would never have imagined when it comes to style.

One thing I’ve started doing this week is making sure I walk for an hour a day 5x a week. It’s helping my mood more than anything else.

Do you have any plans for tackling the changes you want to make?

I’ve really been struggling as I have two little ones and seem to forget myself in it all the chaos.
This week is week one and I’ve decided to do one thing everyday for me, that way it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
So far I’ve had my eyebrows done, shaved my legs, painted my toe nails and today I did twenty minutes on the exercise bike. I’ve found just doing one thing everyday is manageable and I’m starting to feel a little bit more like me.
Good luck!

Glad it's not just me, but sorry that others feel just as bad!

My plan (such as it is so far) is to log my food on MyFitnessPal every day, and keep below 1700. Then one evening a week I will have a few drinks etc.

Need to colour my hair and get it cut.

Have just ordered a new epilator, which should arrive tomorrow so will try to set aside some time for "pampering" (hate that word). Maybe every Sunday from now on, to keep myself in check.

I'd love to walk every day, but my foot hurts if I walk too far in one day (still waiting for an appointment with the specialist which has been massively delayed due to Covid).

What are all your plans? Do you have a time goal? I'm meeting up with some old friends (all being well) at the end of July, so would like to be looking (and feeling) a lot better by then.

Am also suffering with terrible hot flushes/night sweats so I'm hoping that losing weight will help with that.

And also going to try to do 10 mins relaxation each day as I'm very stressed and anxious too.
