Hi all, I'm looking for hair mask recommendations for dry coloured hair in need if some TLC. There are so many out there - don't want to waste my pennies 😊 tia.

Olaplex no. 3 and garnier hair food in combination are amazing!

I’ve recently got the garnier hair food masks (they were on offer in Sainsbury’s) I love them. Smell amazing and my hair feels much better.

Moroccan oil hydrate mask

Absolutely love Shea Moisture Jamaican black castor oil masque.

Following!

Tuckedinbelly · 13/05/2021 22:14

Elasticizer, bought in big one litre bottles. Good value per ml. Both my most recent hairdressers recommended it. That and Olaplex

Get some almond oil, it’s cheap enough. Put it on dry hair and leave as long as possible, over night would be great. Then wash as normal, it’s a game changer honestly. Never used anything on my damaged hair that made such a difference instantly!

TheDogsMother · 13/05/2021 22:15

Philip Kingsley Elastisizer.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/05/2021 22:28

Working do you put it on all over including scalp or from ears down if it’s long?

Workinghardeveryday · 13/05/2021 22:40

@AnneLovesGilbert I put it on from the scalp down and put loads on so my hair looks wet with it. I discovered it by chance last summer when my hair was so damaged. My ends were all knotted and dry, needed a good cut but couldn’t get one (it’s very long), heat damaged from curling and it’s coloured.
Couldn’t believe the difference after! Soft right to the ends and silky!!

Workinghardeveryday · 13/05/2021 22:41

Also I tried with caster oil but that did nothing and it smells horrible!

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/05/2021 22:45

Thank you. Mine is bra length, not coloured but it’s been really dry recently and could use a boost. I’ve been really anaemic, don’t know if it’s connected.

Do you put it on then wrap it in something overnight and wash in the morning?

Sorry to derail OP!

Workinghardeveryday · 14/05/2021 07:21

When I do it I usually put it on after a lunch and just leave it until about 7 then wash it. Suppose it would work even better if you say wrapped in cling film and a towel?!
Yes bet it’s because your anemic!

My Sunday routine is It's A 10 mask, with a shower cap on top, then a bobble hat on top of that, left on while I do an hour or so of boring housework. Rinse off to reveal shiny bouncy hair.

Garnier Hair Food ones are fabulous for the price. Better than the Shea ones IMO and just as good as the salon Macadamia ones I used to get.
I have dry, coloured hair and love the Papaya. The Banana is supposed to be good, but no way I am smelling like a banana.

@Rollopollo hi, I tried something new on my hair and remembered this thread and thought I have to tell you!
I have tried many of their products but didn’t rate them before - olaplex.
Anyway, someone bought me no 8 for my birthday, omg!!!!! It’s transformed my hair in one use. Wash hair, towel dry a bit and add, I left for 10 minutes and rinsed off. My hair is SUPER soft!! Best thing I have ever used!!!
