Upping my skincare game - do I need Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid as well as retinol?

Am almost 40 and trying to establish a skincare regime, basically. I’m doing Skin +Me so that’s the retinol, plus standard moisturiser and SPF. Should I use anything else? I keep reading about Vit c and hyaluronic acid, will they make a difference? If so can anyone recommend any I can buy on Amazon as I’ve got vouchers for my birthday I can use. Thank you!

Hyaluronic acid (Indeed Labs, Hada Labo, The Ordinary) did nothing for me - LRP Redermic retinol, on the other hand, is great. I sometimes use a Vit C tonic from Nip+Fab but I don't really know what I'm doing on that one 😳

What do you use moisturiser-wise?

I’m using Body Shop stuff after taking pity on a friend who sells it, but I quite like it. Vitamin E day cream, and an overnight cream from a different range.
