Hairdresser TODAY still no clue!

Only a few hours left until my much anticipated hairdresser appointment and I still have no clue whether to have a slight trim or go back to a (longish) bob. My hair is healthy, fine and straight (no heat tools used on the picture). I feel I should either keep it above the shoulder or much longer, as it's a bit boring right now. Any ideas? I feel bored but don't want to continue endless cycle of cutting and immediately growing out.

I love your hair colour!

If you want to get out of the cycle of having it cut and growing it out, I'd just have a trim and commit to growing it long. I think you have a fringe? Jessica Biel had/has long straight hair with a fringe - would look amazing with your red colour.

I found that having long layers cut in made a subtle but nice difference when I was bored with similar hair to yours.

@Inthemane thank you, I colour it with henna and it goes dark auburn on my mid brown hair! I like the picture you posted. I have a side fringe now, but I have a round/squareish face and wear glasses so straight fringes don't work so well. It would have been a nice change without cutting it all short again and regretting it.

Ok, so I looked back at pictures and I think I'll just trim it. My hair is less straight when shorter and flips in all directions, so needs styling, which I don't have the time to do- so it goes from a dream hair in in my head (left) to sad messy reality (right)!

How did it go, OP?

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 13/05/2021 19:35

Great colour! What did you go for in the end? I’m having a similar debate with myself at the moment.

Smurftastic · 13/05/2021 20:55

I had an inch off- it does look much better but it's short enough to flip on the bottom! I think I'll keep growing it out for a bit and see how bad my postpartum hair loss is this time around. Might have to chop it shorter anyway Confused

Probably too late now, but I was going to suggest taking a look at the Italian Bob on the hairbros website. They had a little section on how to style it, and I liked the high side flick thing (there is a proper hairdresser name for it, I’m sure) and a few alternative ways to freshen up what is quite a simple little Bob. I’m quite tempted to spend £160 to book a cut there to see if they live up their hype of cutting hair that needs very little styling, but the price is a bit eye watering.

I hope you are happy with your hair, OP!

@Perditta ooh I wish I had seen those! Then again I only had a short appointment time so probably wouldn't be able to get such a nice cut. I like the '90s bobs' as well. Let's see how long I can stick to growing my hair out, probably not too long Grin!
