Emboldened by you lovely people and an actual hairstyle I'm tried on and am going to wear some of my charity (natch) summer dresses

Red shirt dress - not sure. Sandals are Jones

Finally hot here yesterday. This dress from warehouse is a bit out of my comfort zone but it's a cool cotton and linen blend.

@Greyhairwarmheart - we have rain today. There is something about the sound of rain that makes me feel cold (I’ve tried playing recordings as white noise during lockdown). So today I’m starting off in a jumper.

I have a black tie dinner tomorrow . It’s been so long that I have no idea what to wear. I might post some potential outfits later.

@EllaPaella love that combo. I want those jeans. Those specific ones. I'll have to go and try them in as with ripped jeans I don't trust that they will look the same as the picture.

I keep meaning to rip some of mine (I've watched TikToks how to and everything but I have lost my scissors.

I mean I could just buy some more scissors but I know they are in the garden somewhere.

@Shannith 😂 step away from the scissors! Can you get a clothing alterations service to do it for you? These are Levi's boyfriend jeans tapered fit if that's any help, but got them around 2015 so getting on a while now!

Raining today, such a contrast to the last few days. Means my new raincoat got an outing this morning though

The Weekday wide leg jeans have arrived. The mid rise cut is definitely better for me than the usual high rise but they have taken me right back to 2001 and I'm not sure that's a good thing! Thoughts?

Always follow this thread but don't comment, but just popping in to say I think you would look good in just about anything @EllaPaella, but I'm not convinced those jeans are quite you.

Thanks @chasingmytail4 - I agree. It's funny as I haven't worn this shape of jean in years and actually there are so many other styles of jeans and trousers now that suit me a lot better.
I think I've finally reached a conclusion about wide leg jeans, for me they are best left in 2001!

I think wide leg are best shorter eg cropped but I bet next year we will all be wearing those jeans @EllaPaella!

Haha yes soover, they are definitely having a come back. I've tried the cropped ones but they don't do much for me. I'll stick to my usual boyfriend/girlfriend style for now.

@EllaPaella I've got a pair of superdry boyfriend jeans somewhere that I never wear so if they die while ripping it's fine.

I'm in two minds about your wide legged jeans. I think you could rock the look but there might be a better version for you. Sort of tighter and less rigid? Might just be the angle. Also my 2000 head screams wear them with a pointed 4 inch heel so perhaps my view is flawed

OK. I’ve done some trying on, and decided that there are basically 9 options.

Option #1: black dress (Karen Millen)

Safe, but possibly a bit boring? Has the advantage of long sleeves, so no need to worry about a jacket/cardigan/wrap (pre-dinner drinks are outside).
