Jeans and sausage thighs. Is there a solution? (Pics)

I'm a size 10 hourglass. Jeans have always been the hardest thing for me to purchase. I usually wear dresses because of this. Very small waist. Chunky bum and thighs with a squishy mum tum, so finding jeans is a huge struggle. My main issue with jeans is that they all cut into my thighs and leave me with these horrid creases under the bum that make my thighs look like a stuffed sausage. I've tried on several pairs of jeans with friends around and they all say they look fine and that you don't notice the creases but it's really bothers me. The only pair that haven't done this are my skinnies from Next, but I'm trying to move away from skinnies. I've currently got 4-5 pairs of jeans at home with tags on and they're all doing this. WHY!?! Am I destined to have chunky thigh creases forever or can something be done? The jeans also always seem to bunch behind the knee. I don't know if this is because I'm short?

In this pic (same jeans) the jeans are miles too long so I'm wearing a wedge shoe on the right foot and no shoe on the left which is why the difference between the right and left sides.

I find that a loser fitting jean like a mom jean makes my ass and thighs look even bigger, and that I need the lifting and shaping of a jean with a bit of stretch in it that's more fitted in the bum area.

@SmileyClare

It's always going to be difficult to find jeans that fit perfectly with your figure. Is that you in the last updated photo? Your waist and bum look bloody fantastic. A bit tight at the front but depends how much "give" they have.

I think you're going to have to accept that the very nature of jeans means they're are not going to be the most flattering comfortable clothes item for you. Not because you're fat, you have an amazing hourglass shape but just because of your body shape.

I must admit, I'd be tempted to give up on jeans and buy some fabulous flattering clothes, a clingy long skirt, dresses, stretchy fabrics that cling to your curves, a cropped denim jacket to show off your waist, short fitted jumpers, a belted summery jumpsuit.

I suppose all this struggling in and out of hundreds of jeans and walking up the post office to return them is great exercise at least Grin

Yes that's me in the latest pair. And yes I definitely agree that they're too tight in the front as is. I wouldn't wear them out of the house like this now, but I wearing them around the house until the stretch out. I still have about 10lbs to lose and it's coming off steadily so even if they don't stretch out at all I'd say within another 2 months they should fit perfect.

Haha yes, I do wonder what the people at the post office must think 😂

As for giving up on jeans, I'm making it my mission to find a few suitable pairs. I have upwards of 90 dresses in my wardrobe. I have a minor addiction to buying them but my problem is that since I'm not going into the office, into London or out at all much any more I barley wear any of them. I'm trying to invest in more wearable pieces like jeans and tops which pre-covid I rarely wore.

You should try levi rib cage high straight leg. I have 14 inch difference between my waist and hip, but they are a great fit and very flattering. You just buy your actual waist size, as the hip and thigh area sort of skims, but without being baggy.

Over 90 dresses, Wow you must have a big wardrobe. I feel quite envious. I get what you mean, some work/ smart clothes feel too much in these covid restricted times. You can experiment with different footwear, belts, a denim jacket over a dress with plimsolls or chunky boots, flip flops can change how a dress looks.

However, I admire your determination, so good luck with your jeans quest! Smile

Oh I agree with @5128gap I have a pair of Levi ribcage and they're great. I find they come up really long though (I find that with all Levis, I'm 5'2). Abercrombie curve love wide leg are very similar too.

OP, those Stradivarius jeans look great! Much better fit than the jeans in your original photo and I think the style is more up-to-date too. Are they the Dad jeans style?

mamakoukla · 16/05/2021 23:41

Mavi jeans. Levi curve and the extreme version just gaped massively at the waist. My hips are wide, my waist much smaller…. Well not at the moment! Also found high or mid rise helped

Wow .. this goes to show you what a difference the right clothes for your shape make ! I work in women's fashion and it's amazing how many women have no clue .. I love dressing them and showing them they have fantastic figures! You look awesome Op!

If it helps to know I’ve lost a stone for not snacking and it’s mostly gone from thighs. I walk loads every day and nice and toned...

A quick fix for too-big jeans waistband is a buckle-free belt. You can get them on eBay for £3 or £4. They're not the best looking of belts but you don't get the extra bulk like you do with a buckle, and you cinch them in at the back.

The Stradivarius jeans look great.

I was going to suggest balloon jeans from H&M or M&S but think you would be swamped.
