Jeans and sausage thighs. Is there a solution? (Pics)

I'm a size 10 hourglass. Jeans have always been the hardest thing for me to purchase. I usually wear dresses because of this. Very small waist. Chunky bum and thighs with a squishy mum tum, so finding jeans is a huge struggle. My main issue with jeans is that they all cut into my thighs and leave me with these horrid creases under the bum that make my thighs look like a stuffed sausage. I've tried on several pairs of jeans with friends around and they all say they look fine and that you don't notice the creases but it's really bothers me. The only pair that haven't done this are my skinnies from Next, but I'm trying to move away from skinnies. I've currently got 4-5 pairs of jeans at home with tags on and they're all doing this. WHY!?! Am I destined to have chunky thigh creases forever or can something be done? The jeans also always seem to bunch behind the knee. I don't know if this is because I'm short?

In this pic (same jeans) the jeans are miles too long so I'm wearing a wedge shoe on the right foot and no shoe on the left which is why the difference between the right and left sides.

I find that a loser fitting jean like a mom jean makes my ass and thighs look even bigger, and that I need the lifting and shaping of a jean with a bit of stretch in it that's more fitted in the bum area.

I just think they’re too small :(

I hear you though. I have the opposite problem- skinny hips/thighs/bum and a bigger tummy. I buy skinny jeans a size bigger than my thighs need- they fit round my waist and just look like straight leg ones, but it’s a pain being disproportionate!!

NotRainingToday · 13/05/2021 20:45

@WankmasterBastardDeLaShithead

For what it's worth, I think you have a perfectly lovely looking derrière, thigh creases and all. Very shapely.
You have the best user name 😂 (Sorry, not derailing thread)
NotRainingToday · 13/05/2021 20:46

And, OP, I think you look lovely too

Deux · 13/05/2021 20:59

Not sure if this’d work for you but may be worth a try. Next do 5 pocket jeans in the boys section that go up to age 16 which is quite a generous size. They have adjustable button elastic on the waist.

I got jeans from M and S that actually fitted me on the waist by trawling through the reviews and finding a style where lots of reviewers were complaining about the waist being too small. Unfortunately they’ve discontinued them this year though.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 13/05/2021 21:01

I'm the same shape as you! JBrand photoready are really good if you want skinny jeans.

Otherwise size up and get the waist taken in. Doesn't make me feel shit, makes me feel smug that I have a figure people get bum implants for. Kim Kardashian buys size 14 jeans and has them tailored if that makes you feel any better.

I've also embraced the high waisted jean. Love the Zara paper bag waist ones. 80s-tastic, but painfully fashionable and they make my waist look teeny tiny.

huuuuunnnndderrricks · 13/05/2021 21:09

Size up and get the waist tapered by a local seamstress . It just wear them like that 🤷‍♀️

BListOrMaybeEvenZList · 13/05/2021 21:34

I know it's not what you asked but as you mentioned you want to slim down your legs I can highly recommend the Rachel Attard Lean Legs programme. If you google her then her website should appear and she is also on Instagram. She's an Australian personal trainer.

SorrelForbes · 13/05/2021 21:42

I'm a similar shape and size. As other posters have said, you need jeans with less stretch, that don't cling, ideally 100% cotton (99 or 98% at a pinch). I'm a UK 10, 5'3" and wear 501 cropped in 27w x 26L. I also have vintage men's Levi's 501 and 511s and had to get a 31W in those (both from eBay).

CorianderBee · 13/05/2021 21:45

But a bigger size and wear with a belt

SmileyClare · 13/05/2021 21:48

If I were you Op, I'd change tack. Who wants to buy jeans that are too big and then hoik them up with a belt or pay even more getting the waist taken in? They'd be all baggy in the bum area wouldn't they? Or rigid men's jeans? Yuk.
Added to that, you're still losing weight? I think you've got a great figure but you're simply drawing attention to your least favourite area with those styles. An hourglass shape is enviable but annoyingly hard to dress. You can look a stone heavier if you get it wrong!

I'd go for some very tight very stretchy dark skinnies that'll give you the shaping and lifting you need. A decent pair of those is literally like having a bum lift and wearing Spanx..You can buy skinny flares which might satisfy your wish to move away from the whole skinny jean thing. Some dark skinny flares would look great with a white tunic style shirt and your wedges.

If you try a pair on and don't immediately love them, then don't buy them. They'll just gather dust in your wardrobe.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 13/05/2021 22:23

Size up, but maybe in a different brand id the size up of that pair don't suit. Try a few different brands.

bingoitsadingo · 16/05/2021 20:24

You need hourglass/curvy fit jeans!
Try asos hourglass, free people CRVY, or American Eagle, hollister, everlane, sometimes GAP all have curvy ranges. Life changing!

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 16/05/2021 20:55

So I posted on another thread yesterday that I bought the bootleg ones from Stradivarius of all places and they fit really nicely (I think!)

I bought both the 12 and the 10, but the 12 was loose in the waist and a bit baggy in the bum. So I've kept the 10's with the hope that they stretch out in the front a bit because they're a tiny bit too tight (I'm hoping and assuming they will stretch especially because they are a cheaper jean). And also because I'm still losing weight. Im waiting on a larger size to arrive of the flared pair I initially posted, as well as a few others from another brand.

These are the Stradivarius ones...

Sorry, no polite way to put this. I would try the next size up if I were you. Skimming is much more flattering than hugging.

Cluckycluck · 16/05/2021 21:04

Don't try the next size up, you need to get curve fitting jeans that are cut larger on the thigh and arse. Next size up will just look ill fitting

I am a size 8 but my thighs are large and finding curve fit jeans was a life changer. Gap Curve used to be my favourite but I can't seem to get them now. I'm now wearing Abercrombie Curve Love ones, they all come in different lengths too. There's always some sort of offer on so hold out for a decent one.

Do you mean in the jeans I just bought? Or the originals? The size up of the ones I just bought were really too loose. And considering I'm still losing weight and they apparently stretch out quite a bit I didn't want to keep them and have them be way too big

Ruby london jeans are good for your shape, have a look. Agree you need a better quality denim

PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit · 16/05/2021 21:11

Try next lift slim and shape ones in bootcut to balance things out.

Alternatively don't go so high waisted and but a larger size to fit the legs- thus eliminating the baggy waist issue.

honeybuns007 · 16/05/2021 21:18

You are a size 10. Even sizing up you shouldn't be needing 32W. That makes no sense. You should be wearing a 28/29 so size up to 30 at the absolute most. Why are you buying a 32?

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 16/05/2021 21:23

@diddlediddle thanks, I just checked them out, but they're all skinnies and exactly what I'm trying to get away from. I've already got some very similar.

@PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit I will check those out, but again they're on the slimmer side of what I'm wanting.

@honeybuns007 I have very chunky thighs and bum in comparison to the rest of me. My waist is very small. So to accommodate I need a bigger size, which inevitably means too big in the waist 🤦🏼‍♀️

HarebrightCedarmoon · 16/05/2021 21:28

I never bought smaller than 32/32 jeans when I was a size 8/10. My actual waist measurement was 26". Loads of things would fit on my waist but not my legs. Jeans sizing is a nightmare, just buy what fits, don't get hung up on the numbers.

SmileyClare · 16/05/2021 21:28

It's always going to be difficult to find jeans that fit perfectly with your figure. Is that you in the last updated photo? Your waist and bum look bloody fantastic. A bit tight at the front but depends how much "give" they have.

I think you're going to have to accept that the very nature of jeans means they're are not going to be the most flattering comfortable clothes item for you. Not because you're fat, you have an amazing hourglass shape but just because of your body shape.

I must admit, I'd be tempted to give up on jeans and buy some fabulous flattering clothes, a clingy long skirt, dresses, stretchy fabrics that cling to your curves, a cropped denim jacket to show off your waist, short fitted jumpers, a belted summery jumpsuit.

I suppose all this struggling in and out of hundreds of jeans and walking up the post office to return them is great exercise at least Grin

taffetty · 16/05/2021 21:41

you could try for gapey waistband.
