I’m not very thin. What can I wear this summer that’s comfortable and flattering?

I’ve had a fairly shit time lately even without COVID and consequently I’m looking far from my best. I’m trying to lose some weight but realistically it’s not going to happen overnight.

I’m looking forward to a fresh start this summer 🤞🏻 but I’m not happy with how I look and have no idea how to dress for warmer weather.

I’m around an 18, short, booby and very untoned. What a catch 🤦🏻😂 I like simple, slightly edgy styles and can’t bear anything that feels uncomfortable.

Any ideas?

I am no expert, I’m struggling myself with ideas for summer after covid weight gain… but I would recommend natural fibres to keep you cool and not drowning yourself in excess fabric. It’s tempting to want to hide but I think it adds bulk.

Do you like Cos and Arket? They sound like they’d suit your style.

I've put on a little weight but I'm not hating it. I feel more womanly with bigger hips and thighs. . Looking into body shape might help. I'm actually easier to dress now than I was before.

I think all the wide legged trousers and various mom jean shapes will work in your favour. Add some DM style sandals (they'll give you the edginess) and t-shirt of your preferred silhouette. And some great shades. All set for a sunny day.

When I was very booby I definitely looked better in dresses with a proper waist rather than a tunic type top that hung off my boobs and made me look bigger. I also looked better in a line skirts or drssses as they balanced me more than straight skirts. For trousers I looked best in linen type loose fitting trousers with a long ish but tailored shirt. V necks were better for my boobs than round or high necks. I would go for plain bottoms in neutral colour like khaki or beige that will go with several interchangeable tops. Patterned skirts/trousers I can only ever make into 1 outfit so a lot less versatile.

I have bought some freedom dresses. They fall from under the bust. Works for me. I saw them advertised. Cant remember where

You might like Religion clothing? I discovered them by accident in Brighton abd I love their stuff. Slightly edgy, and (as a bonus) very generous clothing sizes!

I've ordered this for summer. It's linen. Benetton. I'm hoping it's as cool (temperature sense) as it looks.

Thanks, a few places I hadn’t thought of to have a look at. Some are a little pricier than I’d usually go for but I think half my problem is still expecting to look good in cheaper clothes 🙄
