Maxi dress that hides tummy

I haven't worn a dress since I got married 14 years ago. I'd love a maxi dress for summer. But I really want one that hides my stomach. I just ordered some to try now from Bon Prix and though lovely, they cling to my tummy. Just a casual every day maxi dress. Any suggestions please for a tummy hiding dress? I'm 5 ft 6 if that matters

Did you watch the Sewing Bee episode where they made ‘buffet’ dresses? They are dresses that hide tummy bulge after pigging out at a buffet. Watch it if you can.
I look for dresses than gather slightly under the bust rather than the waist, I’ve got a couple of cheap ones from Primark that actually look good with trainers or Birkenstocks!

Ahh I live really rural so no Primark near me unfortunately! I would have to order online my nearest one is probably and hour and a half away (I don't drive). Very annoying!

Can you afford Free People op?

It's pricey but I honestly think it's worth it on some dresses. I've gone from a 10 to a 16 and back and been able to wear the same dresses.

You have to pick the right ones though, I've sent dozens back, but I can recommend certain ones.

I've just googled them. Beautiful clothes! But too pricey for me unfortunately. Maybe when my children are grown 😊
