Outfit for 70s party

I want to wear something nice and modern with '70s feel, not a joke outfit from a party shop. Any suggestion? (on a budget). There are so many lovely floaty dresses out there, maybe something paisley? or colour block? or flowers? arrrr I don't know, please help! (happy to go second hand).

And I love the look of the main character in The Serpent, but I'm a bit too fat in the middle for jumpsuit!
