Cosmetic surgery abroad

Hi, I was hoping to get peoples experiences of cosmetic surgery abroad. I really want an upper blepharoplasty, but I see the price difference is thousands of pounds. In particular I wanted to know how I would choose a surgeon, where you can get reliable reviews from.

I know it's good to ask to see peoples work, but how do you know if it is their work? Any advice would be brilliant. Thank you.

Personally I would hate to be lying in a strange hotel/apartment bed trying to recover from major surgery, or travelling for hours to get home, but I understand the price difference makes it attractive.

I had this op about 10 years ago. I had a local anesthetic (didn’t want a general) and it cost less. I think anytime we have surgery we're taking a risk, going abroad is a gamble. If you do go research your surgeon.

What happens if it goes wrong? I've had bad dental work when I worked overseas. Cost me a lot to sort out. Would never go on holiday to get cosmetic surgery.

Thanks for the info, that was some informative reading TheIrony.

Annettebee do you mind me asking what country you had your operation in? Thanks.
