5 minute make-up

Stargazer86 · 10/05/2021 09:30

I've always worn make-up everyday, it makes me feel more me and put together...since having my little girl however I have considerably less time!

What are your go to products/tips for 5 minute make-up? What do you think makes the most impact in the least time? All advice welcome! Xx

My make never takes more than a couple of minutes unless it's full on night out make up.

Boing under eye concealer
Bb cream or foundation depending on how much tan / time of year
Brows
Mascara

Miseryisabutterfly · 10/05/2021 09:42

Compact foundation will speed things up. Using that, mascara, gimme brow (or similar), a touch of blush or bronzer with a kabuki brush and lip balm would only take 5 minutes. I lay out the products I’m going to use in order the night before so I can quickly put them on in the morning!

Stargazer86 · 10/05/2021 12:02

Laying the products out the night before is a genius idea...not sure I'm that organised though! 🤣

I can't do this in anything under 5 mins 40 seconds, but:

primer
concealer
mascara
loose powder
blusher
eyeliner
lip colour

That's my everyday routine, fine for staying in, going out, teams calls etc etc

ZooeyS · 10/05/2021 12:39

Ahhh are you considering the prep time? I use a serum and undereye cream followed by a moisturiser and primer. I let them do their thing whilst I have a cup of tea and chat with the dog, and then - concealer, bb cream, bronzer, mascara. Easily done in less than five minutes.

Roodicus21 · 10/05/2021 12:49

I get my eyebrows shaped and dyed (HD) and LVL curled eyelashes so saves me time here and only need to do foundation, concealer, blush/ bronzer and lip gloss.

MorganSeventh · 10/05/2021 13:06

I have my eyelashes dyed and eyebrows shaped and tinted every 6 weeks, takes 30 minutes at a salon. So daily it's just a lightweight foundation, cream blush and lip tint. Takes under 2 minutes. For me, it's the tinted eyelashes that make the most difference as my lashes are long but naturally quite fair. Dying them instantly makes my face more defined, plus no need to worry about mascara smudging.

I also use a superdrug hot cloth cleanser in the shower and a serum afterwards which means the foundation and cream blush sit smoothly, but I use those on make up free days too.

Stargazer86 · 10/05/2021 14:17

Any blush/bronzer recommendations to instantly look more alive? Coming from a sleep deprived new mum! 🤣

I've just got the Beauty Pie One Powder Wonder in medium deep and it's fantastic as a bronzer - it sort of blurs everything! I'm usually a Guerlain girl but this is so much better.

In terms of 5 minute make ups, I find the Benefit Bad Gal Bang 24 hour pencils with smudger on the end are very quick with great results as are chubby lip pencil style lipsticks by Bobbie Brown.

hamsterchump · 10/05/2021 15:29

If your skin is quite good then I think mascara and blush make the most impact for the least time. I'm loving the Natural Collection (from Boots) cream blush stick in the peachy pink colour, it's a great dupe for Nars Orgasm and only something like £2.99. You can do both of those in like 2 mins. Then if you've got a bit more time I'd do a bit of concealer (under eyes, any red bits etc), brush/gel brows and some kind of lip product, even just balm. All that takes about 5 mins.

ThatIsMyPotato · 10/05/2021 15:51

If you can use a light coverage foundation you might get away without using blush. But I find if I need the coverage then I have to use blush. I like benefit dandelion but I have really pale skin. Or chanel do lovely ones.

Alternista · 10/05/2021 15:53

BB cream and blusher- done in 2!

Justcashnosweets · 10/05/2021 17:21

My everyday makeup takes minutes.
Tinted moisturiser, concealer, light dusting of face powder, brows, mascara and blusher. Then a tinted lip balm. Done.

NeedATan · 10/05/2021 17:24

In under 5 minutes:

foundation using a kabuki brush
tightline with a soft black pencil
mascara
gimme brow or eyebrow pencil
coral lipstick used as blusher (it looks more natural)
lipstick/lipgloss

I get my eyelashes permed every few weeks and that makes a huge difference to my lashes when I have mascara on. ATM I have a fringe so I don't bother doing my eyebrows (although I get them waxed)

sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 10/05/2021 17:29

Depending on your skin tone, fake tan your face every other night. Either drops into your moisturiser or gradual.

This makes a massive different to your face and tone, you might then only need concealer or a tinted moisturiser.

Tint and shape your brows every few weeks

LVL lash treatment is a time saver

VanillaAndOrange · 10/05/2021 17:41

Tinted moisturiser, eyeliner, mascara. Maybe red lipstick if the occasion demands it.

Job's a good'un.

Rina66 · 10/05/2021 17:57

Definitely agree @sabrinathemiddleagewitch facial fake tan makes a huge difference - when I use the Tan Lux Sleep Oil at night, I guarantee next morning my DH will say "oooh you look nice!". It never fails 😂

ElspethFlashman · 10/05/2021 18:18

Definitely a bronzer/blusher duo like the Nars or ELF one is handy.

ElspethFlashman · 10/05/2021 18:19

And yes yes yes to fake tan drops in your moisturiser!!

Branleuse · 10/05/2021 18:20

I use a mousse foundation in a jar then quick eyeliner and mascara, blusher stick and nude lipstick.
Probably doesnt even take 5 mins

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 10/05/2021 18:46

Ordinary serum foundation
Mascara
Clinique chubby stick on lips, cheeks & eyes.
Done in 4 mins.

Zenithbear · 10/05/2021 23:36

My everyday make-up takes less than 5 minutes.
Tinted moisturiser
Jane iredale peaches and cream compact powder for cheeks, eyes and lips.
Mascara
For going out at night I add a chunky smudgy eye pencil and a taupe eyeshadow for a smokey eye effect.
