Can you wear a jacket that is shorter than your shirt/t-shirt?

I love this jacket www.marksandspencer.com/faux-suede-collarless-biker-jacket/p/clp60451738?color=INDIGO but would want to wear it over a longer shirt as my tummy is my widest bit and I like to cover it.

Apparently, according to my DSis, this is a fashion no-no. Is she right oh fashionistas? Smile

I think that usually works ok if the jacket is quite oversized/boxy, which I'm not sure if that is? Or if it looks very deliberate e.g. I can see it working with a much longer striped shirt. But if it's just a wee bit longer, maybe not.

Yes, as above. IMHO, needs to be a lot longer, so you've made a statement of it, or conventional jacket longer scenario. Just a bit longer may look as if you miscalculated :)

T shirt needs to be quite a bit longer. Then yes. Or do the partial tuck at the front?

FindingMeno · 08/05/2021 14:42

Done right it would be absolutely fine.

All Saints have a few shown with longer tops. Plenty of styling ideas.

I don’t think there are any rules. As with all new combinations of your clothes, you need to try them on together and see if it works. Some things that should work together just don’t, and other things will be fine.

Thank you all. I want to try something new but then it looks different and so I chicken out!! Blush Smile
