Where can I get clothes for 14yo DS?

He's 5'7", super skinny. Too tall for kids clothes which seem to stop at age 13 anyway, and would drown in men's clothes.

He doesn't like anything branded and doesn't wear sportswear (eg joggers, anything football related, Nike sweat shirts etc).

Am after reasonable quality basics, preferably not just back or navy for shirts.

Boohoo man has great stuff and my son has 28" waist and takes a size small

ALevelhelp · 08/05/2021 20:50

ASOS might be worth a look? Their own brand basics always seem decent quality and not really expensive. They also sell branded stuff

Nearly always an offer on too, worth keeping an eye out for 20% off everything nights

My Ds likes Boohoo

I'm guessing TopMan is in disgrace but their TShirts were fab
Thick cotton, well shaped not boxy
Good colllar/neckline
Not see-through

Good price too

next
my slim 6 foot son can still fit their boys clothes

Hellocatshome · 08/05/2021 21:03

He will definitely fit xs mens clothes especially with draw string waist if he is super skinny. My 14 year old is 6ft and skinny as a rake, he wears small mens because whilst the xs mens fit in the waist (with drawstrings) they were about 2/3 inches too short so should be fine for 5ft 7.

My ds is 12 and 5 ft 9 - super skinny. We’ve had success in TK Maxx with the men’s small and x small as there are lots of different brands.

APinchOfLOL · 09/05/2021 07:38

I have 2 teen skinny boys.

We shop for XS or S in men's wear at:

Primark
Next
John Lewis
Superdry

Also look at Urban Outfitters.

Standrewsschool · 09/05/2021 07:56

Also have tall, skinny dc. Dc2 grew to 6’ 5 at 18.

Next online - opt for men’s xs sizes,
River island - online
M and m direct - good for discounted clothes and has a range of sizes

Illegible · 09/05/2021 08:29

DS is also 5ft7 and superskinny. He lives in uniqlo men's size S basic tops and ASOS cargo pants (s or xs depending on brand).

MoltonSilver · 09/05/2021 08:30

You need teen brands like super dry and Hollister. For jeans, Hollister was the only place a could find small enough waists with long enough legs. I tried men's sections in other brands but found the proportions wrong for tall skinny teens. Even if the waist fits the thighs and bum will often be too baggy.

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate your suggestions.

Gap now do a teen range which seems to be fairly logo free. Possibly a bit heavy on the tie-dye look though!

nowlook · 10/05/2021 07:53

IKKS has been good for my skinny teen in the past. Also La Redoute for basics.

Divineswirls · 10/05/2021 09:49

Next jeans bought online are perfect for long skinny legs

I have a skinny tall dd and have the same issue, Next kids clothes go up to 16 as do M&S, H&M are quite a good fit for skinny and they have some great T-shirt’s. Super dry are also quite slim fitting and we buy a bit from GAP.
