'Hair enhancers' - thinning hair

www.simplywigs.co.uk/long-top-mono-hair-enhancer-amore-rene-of-paris.html

I've noticed recently my shoulder length hair is thinning on top slightly. It's at the front hairline - I grew out my fringe as it looked more noticeable, but now I have no fringe it still looks shit.

My hair used to be so lovely and thick, now I'm over 50 it's thin and limp and hangs lifelessly.

Admittedly, I'm very lazy about styling it, so the idle side of me is thinking one of these hair enhancers could solve things. Instant hairdo plus thicker hair.

Does anyone use one? I'd hate it to look wiggy. Reviews look amazing. Am I mad to consider it?

Difficult to know for sure but I think mixed in with natural hair they could look very natural. Also wanted to suggest trying batiste coloured dry shampoo. I was also considering some kind of additional hair, but tried this after seeing someone on YouTube demonstrating it. It adds volume at the roots as well as a bit of colour to disguise scamp showing through.

I’d visit the dr first just to rule out medical causes.

I have a Jon Reneau topper which looks incredibly natural and realistic - just gives me the volume I used to have. It did blend with my natural hair well, but as my hair colour has changed, more grey/white, its not blending as well, so am wearing a full wig now.

That sounds interesting BradleyCooper - where did you buy it from?

Id be interested to known too Bradley. I got a topper off Amazon and it looked like I was wearing a squashed guinea pig.

Ecruelworld 😬. That's definitely not the look I'm going for 😂😂😂

If you have a look on Instagram there is a huge hair wearing community. A few for example are herhairmyhead, hair.editary and littlehairbigheart

Toppers with a silk base and a fringe cut in tend to look much less detectable. The mono base like that one can look a lot less realistic

I bought mine from The Wig Lounge in Bolton. I was tempted to buy it from SimplyWigs, but it is really helpful to try lots on in an actual shop.
However, when I come to replace them, I may just get them online when they have their sales. I get the impression, that you get what you pay for with wigs. There are a gazillion videos on YT - I like SugarPuffandFluff; CrazyWigLady, Taz's Wig Closet and Jill Lyne Beauty Therapy. They really explain all about wigs/toppers - the construction of the cap, the fibres, how to put them on, how to look after them etc. Its also useful to see how different the same wig looks on different people.

Thanks Bradley. I will take a look at the sites you mention and agree it’s much better if you can try things on.

I use a hair power n crush in dark colour just to blend my hair parting wher the scalp shows a little more than I'd like just to blend it in, it's really effective. If I'm going to a special occasion (well you know pre covid! I'd use three clip in peices of hair extensions only for thickness not length . That and getting a good low maintenance long bob really helped.

Thank you all some useful stuff here. Will take a look at those YouTube clips.

I want it so people just think my real hair looks good, rather than it obviously be fake. X
