Every day summer shoe

I'm wishing summer along and want a pair of every day shoes. Something I can wear running after a toddler in the garden with shorts/skirts/capris etc. I'm not much of a trainer person and need something a little more robust than a sandal. I had wondered about TOMS?

I'm 42, in the country and in a bit of a rut.

Any ideas from people more switched on? I haven't been into a town for over a year at this point!

I have some toms- they're very comfy!

Toms are comfy but they aren't very study & don't have much grip. Depends on whether this bothers you.

Canvas pumps like these?

Just looked at the Toms, there's some really lovely ones, and they make the best slippers! I wear Superga a lot, comfortable and hard-wearing. They've survived multiple machine washes too.

@Chatanooga1 - I quite like those, but not the detail on the heels. My mum has some v similar (she's in her 70s) which puts me off a bit!

Do you need socks with Superga @FreekStar

I'm also trying to be a skinflint and find stuff on eBay so its all a bit hit and miss!

I love Toms for the summer - they are the only shoe I've had that's actually comfortable to wear without socks and they are surprisingly comfortable to walk in. The fact that they can be slipped on and off is also convenient for toddler wrangling. Not great for rainy days though.
