Which heated styler is best to create ‘beach waves’

I want to be able to do beach waves in my hair & have an Amazon voucher to use. I have got GHD barrel tongs but find them difficult to use (i have joint issues with my hands) & I keep bloody burning my fingers!

Can anyone recommend something to create this look please that isn’t too tricky to use? Thanks

Following as I want to know too. I can get a lovely beach wave on one side using straighteners but for the life of me can't replicate it on the other side!

@therighttime12 i can’t do it with my straighteners either, they are too large/wide I think. My DD 9 goes to bed with hers in a plait & wakes up with such lovely waves. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to quite work the same when I try it😄

I have this one and love it, it’s very quick and easy to use and the waves last until I next wash my hair up to three days later.

With the Toni & Guy one, do you literally just clamp it in sections? Or pull it downwards? How do you make it beachy and not too uniform?

I’ve never seen one of those before. Does it actually work?

It does work but I've got got thick hair and it has a tendency to frizz after using these. It also has a bit of a look of 80's style crimping.

I don’t find that at all and my hair’s thick.

On the strength of how pleased I was with these I bought the travel ones from T&G for taking on holiday and those gave a crimped effect so I returned them.

To answer questions above, so that it doesn’t look too styled and more beachy I take random sections and hold them at different angles. You don’t slide them down the hair as you would when straightening.

Toni & Guy one here too. @octopusrus you clamp it in sections, don't pull.

I think it works well. It does give a bit of "80s crimp" style at first, but I give my hair a good shake and run my fingers through it so it falls slightly and then it's perfect

I also have the Toni and Guy ones. I love them, especially as throughout lockdown I haven’t been drying/styling my hair so I can let it air dry, whack it half up/half down and stick this through the down bit and it looks like I’ve bothered to do something.

It takes about 2 mins.

Another one recommending the Toni and Guy thing. Genius to do it at different angles! I hadn't thought of that. Just make sure you've got heat protection.

I’m also interested in this. Would anyone recommend big curlers like the Bondi Boost wave wand? It looks good but much more expensive than the Toni and Guy suggestion.

I've got the Boots version - Mark Hill wand with the big wave add on thing - 3 for 2 so with another attachment will be £33 ish (plus an advantage card bonuses etc)

So easy to use - takes me about 5 mins to do my thick just below should length hair

The temperature is adjustable on mine, I find that I only need it set low to get a good result.

I have joint problems too and I find the curling attachment on the dyson air wrap great, but it’s obviously £££.

Thanks to this thread I bought the T&G ones and I’m thrilled with how it came out, exactly what I wanted and it’s lasted longer than GHD curls so far.

I just sleep with my hair in twists (the smaller the section, the smaller the curls/waves, so quite big sections for beachy waves). Twist hair up into spirals, not too tightly and grip at the top.
