Hi, my engagement ring is two years old. When I first got it after a few weeks I actually went back to the jewellers and asked them to see what they thought as I was worried it was too large and could slip off. They said they thought it was fine and I got used to it.
However, over lockdown I have put on weight (this is wanted and I don't want to lose it as I have crohn's so have always been underweight). I've put on about 3kg and now my engagement ring is slightly too tight and leaves an indent. I've been to get my size measured for my wedding ring and they suggested I size up from a J to a K and get my engagement ring altered. I am worried is that even enough as when I got measured it was really hot and stuff and I felt like it was difficult to get a true measurement. I've heard when you wear both a wedding ring and engagement ring, the combination makes the rings tighter. Will one size up therefore be enough? Or am I going to be sizing up again in a couple of years?
Secondly, my husband to be got his ring size measured at a shop just walking past and they thought he was an R. But then when we had our appointment when it was really hot and stuffy they said he was either an S or an S and a half. I'm now not sure what to get him! Would I be better going with S and a half to allow for him to gain weight over the years?
