Any ideas for my hair

Inspired by the thread is my hair dated. Does anyone have any ideas for my hair. Have an appointment at loooong last at the hairdressers on Saturday. They always straighten it. I never ever do as it looks a bit crap when I try lol. The length has been driving me bonkers so definitely thinking of chopping it into a Bob style maybe but I tend to look like a triangle. I always think I am stuck in the 80’s as curly hair ain’t the thing at all but I I kind of like my curls. Anyway any ideas?

How about a length in between a bob and the length you have now?

Pigletpoglet · 03/05/2021 15:56

Yours is fairly similar to mine (mine doesn't have such a good consistent curl though - you're lucky!). I have a kind of very layered bob like the pic (not me). So the longest layers are a good inch below jawline, and the shortest layers are much shorter. Not a fringe, but definitely shorter around the face. Done right, you end up with kind of a diamond shape. (Done wrong you get a triangle or a big curly circle!). It's flattering and easy - no blow drying, just some mousse and leave it.

Your hair is lovely, and very like my daughters. So I can only advise on how she manages hers, id advise you to grow it long, hers looks great, snd use the curly girl method, and use product that defines your curls.

Curly hair is absolutely a thing.

CirqueDeMorgue · 03/05/2021 15:59

You have lovely curls, I definitely wouldn't be straightening those!

ladygindiva · 03/05/2021 16:02

Why would you straighten that?? I like the picture pp put up, its a lovely style. If you're feeling adventurous what about going short? I'll look for a pic

baldafrique · 03/05/2021 16:04

Keep your curls!

rosesarered321 · 03/05/2021 16:07

I love your hair OP.

I agree with you a chin length blunt bob would look good. Or keep it long, I like the side parting.

GreenShadow · 03/05/2021 16:07

But they are! Curls are big these days.
As Bluntness says, look up CurlyGirl if you haven't already and then try and find a local specialist Curly Hairdresser.

tabulahrasa · 03/05/2021 16:08

You need a better hairdresser tbh... they should be able to cut it without straightening it and do a Bob that doesn’t look like a triangle...

ladygindiva · 03/05/2021 16:10

Post fail. Look up undercut curly Bob, I think that would look great on you

Whiffle77 · 03/05/2021 16:12

If your hairdressers straightens it when you don't like it straight then you need a new hairdresser!!

You have lovely curls, lots of hairdressers specialise in cutting curly hair as its so different from cutting straight hair. I would seek out one of those and see what they say!

Toilenstripes · 03/05/2021 16:13

You have beautiful hair! Just go a bit shorter and give it shape.

Si1ver · 03/05/2021 16:14

A long topped curly pixie would look great on you. It's a big step to take though.

Have a quick Google of curly pixie for inspiration

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 03/05/2021 16:16

Oooh, I googled curly pixie - it’s lovely (but you would have to be braver than me).

jannyapple · 03/05/2021 16:30

Gorgeous curls ! Healthy natural and lush ! Just take some weight out and a little length ... if you want to !

Midnightstar76 · 03/05/2021 17:23

Thank you for all your replies Smile @pigletpoglet I do like that. Great style. Off to investigate all your suggestions.

Your hair is gorgeous.
How about some curly up dos to ring the changes but keep the beautiful curls and length

desperatetostaypositive · 03/05/2021 21:43

Embrace the curls! Get a bit of the length off, maybe just a tiny bit of layering and use cantu.
