Those with long hair, recommend me a curler please?

I have long hair and just want to curl the bottom half... I don’t like the curl GHD straighteners make and it doesn’t hold, I also have the GHD curve or whatever it’s called and can’t get on with that either as I end up with the lines in the curl where it has been?? My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. What do you use please that works??

I have a babyliss wave thing & a bobble wand (?) however my hair is naturally wavy & holds a curl very easily.

That’s the strange thing my hair is quite curly naturally (just bad curls) and I don’t know why the ghd won’t hold.

What’s a bobble wand?? @tecatea? I have the mermaid crimper thing which is good but want bigger curls

i think it's by Lee Stafford, it was cheap & looks cheap but I like the look it gives.
For big waves what about rollers? I have the babyliss set but don't use it often as struggle with it 😆

tecatea · 02/05/2021 20:50

bubble not bobble 🤦‍♀️

Ah that makes sense! What kind of curl does it give? Looks like quite tight? I don’t know what kind of rollers? I have Velcro ones but that are for volume and smoothing...

a proper curl as opposed to a wave.

the rollers I have give the bigger waves.

llmb · 02/05/2021 21:25

What type of rollers @tecatea do you have?

I bought the babyliss wand off amazon for dd. Her hair is super thick and heavy. If you use it in small sections it curls well.

tecatea · 02/05/2021 21:29

the classic babyliss ones

Thanks @MildDrPepperAddiction

Ah proper classic curlers @tecatea! I like the look I can ‘sometimes’ get from the dressing gown tie but when I need it to look good it doesn’t! I have seen on Instagram people using specific long roll/tube things for that method and I want some)

I know this isn't what you asked but if you just want to curl the bottom half then the ponytail method is brilliant for long hair. You might already do it that way but it was a revelation to me. Probably self explanatory from the name but you put you hair in a high ponytail and curl it in sections. I only do 4 so it takes less than 60 seconds. I just use wide barreled curling tongs.
