Styling for work

Hello style gurus!

I have a dilemma for you and need assistance. I need an alternative to my trusty white leather convere for work!

At the weekend I tend to live in midi dresses, jumpsuits, dungarees etc - but always either wear my DMs (tall purple, had since 2008) or white converse. I have a range of gorgeous dresses which are all knee length or just below which I love with birkenstocks or espadrilles (which I buy in bulk in French supermarkets) or trainers. But none of these work for work...

Lots of these pieces are work appropriate and would look great with blazers etc, but I have NO idea what to put on my feet! Loafers look clunky, and more "elegant" things I feel make me look really top heavy and about to fall over.

My issues:

• am a teacher, so am on my feet all day and need to be able to move swiftly
• open toe is a no (2000 kids, no sense of lersonal space)
• flats are essential

For reference, I am 5' 8", size 16/18 and a 7 shoe...

When I was a teacher I used to keep a pair of leather clogs under my desk and I would always make a point of changing my shoes during the day. Unless you wear shoes designed for walking, no shoes are comfortable all day long.

I have just bought a pair of fitflop Cova Ii which I think are going to be perfect for exactly this. They are but you can find them discounted if you hunt about

I wear Barker brogues In pink suede
Veja trainers
Gucci style loafers
Suede loafers
Chunky ankle boots

I like chelsea boots for work as they are smart but comfy enough. Not sure whether they go with the outfits you mention.
