Man made fabric

Which man made fabrics are ok/good to wear?

I hate the idea of a lot of them as feel sweaty in any kind of warmth in them. But am I missing out? Or best stay clear, natural fibres all the way?

Fabrics either come from

  • plants such as cotton or linen, ....
  • petrol for all the synthetic ones, acrylic, polyester, ...
  • animals for wool and silk, and of course leather, cashmere, ....
All are somehow man-made because all need a high level of transformation

Which ones do you mean? If you want to avoid animal/petrol based, go for cotton. It comes in different thickness, a jeans and a beach blouse so fine it is transparent can both be made of cotton but with a very different wearability

I avoid polyester in my top half for sure as it’s so sweaty. I avoid too much acrylic in jumpers as they are hot and generally a nasty texture.
Things like viscose, rayon and modal dresses or tops are ok and easier to not iron than cotton. I think they are all made of natural products like wood pulp in some way.
