Alternatives to fillers and Botox

I think the results they give are amazing, but sadly I can't afford to get them redone every 4-6 months.
I paid £230 for nose filler, £230 tear trough, £220 for 11s and crows' feet.

So it's around £700 every 5 months.
Does anyone have experience of anything that works as well but for lower prices?

Well filler in your nose will last up to 18 months at a good clinic so I’m not sure why you think 5 months? Tear trough the same.

Who did you go to for this work? Those prices are fairly cheap to be honest. The Botox is about right.

In terms of alternatives - collagen lift facials. A course of 6 is the standard and with a bit of maintenance and good skincare you’ll get 2 years out of it for about 400£ isn depending where you are.

Gives very good results.

Skin care would be your acids for fine lines and wrinkles - retinol, BHA, AHAs etc. Collagen tablets? Sunscreen every day. Regular facials etc.

There’s no alternative to be honest, there are things you can do to minimise the signs of aging - ive found BHA very effective for my skin along with collagen facials.

Nothing works as well.Id just get the one you like the effects of most.

Filler lasts about 18 months though. My doctor says when in you’re in your mid 40s + it’s a better bet than Botox.

It is annoying that Botox wears off so quickly though. I use lots of at home devices like NuFace and a laser/ radio frequency to make sure skin looks good without Botox.

My Botox lasts almost 6 months and my filler used to last 13 months but now about 10 months as I’m getting older.

Reinventinganna · 29/04/2021 22:26

@Ohpulltheotherone can you recommend a good BHA, AHA, retinol and collagen tablet?

Feather12 · 30/04/2021 22:04

I am getting amazing results from the Foreo Bear and tretinoin.

honeybuns007 · 30/04/2021 22:10

Why are you getting fillers done every 5 months?

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 30/04/2021 22:56

I've been reading about the Foreo on the skincare thread and am mightily tempted to buy one. Would love an LED mask thingy too.

Letsgetreadytocrumble · 30/04/2021 23:03

What do the Foreo/NuFace devices actually do?

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 30/04/2021 23:09

As far as I can tell they help keep the facial scaffolding in place by strengthening the muscles in the places where collagen naturally declines eg.cheekbones. To some degree at least.

Sweetaddiction88 · 01/05/2021 07:52

I paid £230 for under eye filler and was told it would last 6 months, maybe I've been conned?
Nose for £250 I was told would last 9 months

Hmm that’s cheap for filler @Sweetaddiction88 and it’s usually at least a year they last. Unless it’s a different type of filler.

I wouldn’t keep getting filler every 6 months anyway.

Pepsimirror · 01/05/2021 13:54

How long it lasts depends on the person.

Sweetaddiction88 · 01/05/2021 17:15

I was told it would depend on my metabolism, how much water I drank etc

Agreed though it's insane to pay several hundred every few months it should last longer.
