Help style my skinny flares!

I just bought some Zara skinny flares in osian blue (basically denim blue). I'm 40 and having ditched skinnies a couple of years ago have been mostly wearing straight leg. I just tried on these flares and they are immediately so flattering!!! My thighs and bum actually look nice (no mean feat after having a baby last year)! Also the style brings back the heady days of flares and bootcut!

However, we are not in the early 2000's now. I'm no longer wearing those handkerchief tops (🙈😂) and anyway these jeans are high waisted (rather than resting on my skinny 20-something hip bones!). How does one wear these jeans please? What shoes?!! My flat white sneakers surely won't cut it?

Please help! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you!

We need to see the jeans!

I wear flats with mine and fitted tops, either tucked in or not. Because they're denim blue, you can get away with any colour really but I quite like bright ones to make them a bit more interesting! My 'style' isn't for everyone though!

I style mine with a fitted T shirt and blazer!

This is them. It's not me though! I'm a tall curvy size 12, long legs but a bit of a mum tum and flabbyish waist!

Something like a Hermes Oran sandal?

Cowboy ankle boots?

Iamthewombat · 29/04/2021 17:45

Trainers don’t go. You need fitted tops and shoes with a block heel or a wedge.

I got some skinny flares from M&S last month and realised that the way to make them look good is to style them in a 70s way.

I wear sneakers & an American college sweatshirt too!

*with mine!

Clogs, I love a clog, I bought some bootcut last week oh how I have missed them.

Wore them (to the supermarket) with a pair of Hasbeens, could not care less what anyone thought , after all this time I felt rather dressed up instead of, well lounge wear

Kitty clogs would look good at anything with a wedge for a modern take on 70s style

And floaty hippy tops look great and are brill for coving the tum area. Next have a few nice ones this year
