Cardie/Jacket with high necked dress

I have a dinner at a swanky restaurant booked for next easing (ie indoors!

I have purchased this dress:

I am planning to wear it with nude patent courts and a vintage style clutch (light tan). It is, however, May in the UK. I will need a cardie or jacket for sure. None of mine go! Everything seems really clunky against the high neck, even ones that solve the fact it needs to be shorter for the high waist. Would appreciate any tips anyone else has discovered!

Do you want something you can wear in the restaurant, or just to and from? If just to and from I’d say a smart coat would be perfect.

If you need something to wear in the restaurant too hmmm tricky. High necks are a bugger for this. Something shawly that drapes over your arms? Or a black bolero jacket, maybe.

I think a big cashmere pashmina in similar colour(s). No jacket. Be cold and beautiful! It's a fab dress.

Thanks minipie - Im hoping just to and back from and to be able to take it off in the restaurant. I don't really have a suitable smart coat though (all very winter and/or don't go!).

I do quite like that hobbs bolero... I had been looking at wrap tops but that looks less 'faffy'.

waltzingparrot - that jacket reminded me of an Italian label one I used to love. I wore it until it literally fell to pieces. I fell down a very deep internet black hole!

Ive ordered a cropped wrap top, if that's no good Im back on the search next week!
