Brown cord trousers?

I have bought some brown (tan coloured?) cord trousers on a bit of a whim with a voucher today (nothing else I fancied) I loved the look of them and had a similar pair in my 20s.

Only issue is now they’ve arrived I have no idea what to wear them with!

Can they be worn in the summer with sandals and a tee or would you say they are more Autumn/Winter?

Either way what would you wear with them? Especially colour wise (can’t think beyond white and black!)

I might return them argh what do you think?

Teal looks fab with tan as does orange

Purple maybe

Or go safe and do chocolate brown or cream. Definitely not white or black. THey would be wrong for tan.

Pale pink may work.
If they are lightweight cord I think they'd be fine with sandals.
Heavier weight I'd feel were more autumn.

I love cords, have about 7 pairs but I do find them too hot for summer.

Orange, red, cream, teal, navy, forest green.

What about mustard? Would that look too 70s? 👀

They are quite heavy weight, might be something to keep for Autumn hmmm 🤔

@TableNiner what footwear do you wear with them in Autumn/Winter? The black and brown boots I have don’t look quite right, might be the rounded toe... or just the colour 😆

@Weeedonkey I wear tan ankle boots including with brown and tan cords. Mine are mainly skinny. I have four pairs of tan ankle boots, the ones that look the best have a wedge heel

I have tan cord dungarees. They are too warm for summer, but fine just now. I wear them with a black turtleneck and black DMs, or at the moment with fine knit jumpers (black, orange, mustard) or Breton striped tops and either black or white trainers.

Thanks @TableNiner mine are skinny too, I think it’s because I’m just not used to wearing anything but jeans and black trousers 🤣

I love my cords! Wear them until I can't stand the heat anymore 😄
