Help please! Wedding guest outfit

I’m invited to a wedding in July; seems on track to go ahead.
I’m size 12/14 ( ok, more 14) , a bit thicker round the waist though. 5 ft 6in. I’m usually comfortable in smart crop trousers/breton tops, shirt dresses, blazer style jackets.
All I see in the shops are either baggy, prairie style dresses, which look great on younger folk , or stiff, mother of the bride outfits.
I would like a dress with 3/4 sleeve as my arms are better covered, or maybe a smart trouser suit with high heels..
We are friends of the bride’s parents. The majority of the guests will be young and I know no one is looking at me (😄), but I would like to feel stylish and comfortable. Any suggestions? I usually shop in Leamington Spa and online. Thank you for reading!

Hi,

I'm watching with interest as I am in exactly the same position- except I am only 5'4!

I wasn't sure that the wedding would be going ahead and/or whether we might be bumped off the list if numbers were restricted (which would have been totally understandable) but it does now look like it's on. Unfortunately that means finding something to wear after a year in leggings and stripy tee shirts! I'll be reading any replies with interest!

Thanks for the suggestion; I think I wouldn’t look great in that though. I’m hoping to avoid the need for a wrap as I feel cluttered. The church is old and will be chilly even if it’s a hot day.

Might be a bit out there, but am have you considered a jumpsuit? www.silkfred.com/boutiques/traffic-people/clothing/furious-fanfare-bianca-jumpsuit-green

Last 2 weddings I attended I wore i) a silk jumpsuit and ii) silk trousers and a silk top (in a colour that was in the trousers). However, neither of these was a church wedding.
For a cool church I would add either a smart jacket and a hat or a pashmina and hat. But definitely a hat, not one of those fuzzy bath-cleaner things.
Would either of those kind of outfits be an option?

That jumpsuit is gorgeous!! I know 2 people who have it. Can be dressed up or down :-)

I don’t think that would suit me, but thanks for taking the time
