Help me find a blazer with pockets so I don’t need a handbag.

I have a lovely medium sized handbag for casual use, which contains all the usual stuff. But over the last few lockdowns I’ve found myself taking it out less and less because:
A) I’m rarely going out for the whole day - normally just an hour or two
B) I’m running more often
C) hardly anywhere takes cash and all my loyalty cards are now either on my phone or attached to my keyring

So over the winter I’ve just put a mask and keys in the outside pockets of my North Face winter coat and credit card and phone in zipped inner pocket of North Face.

Now that it is no longer North Face weather I resent having to carry a handbag.

So what I want is what my husband has - a lightweight blazer to wear with T shirt and jeans, with a secure (ideally zipped) inside pocket or two for a credit card, phone and tampons and an outer pocket for keys and mask. Ideally in light coloured linen.

Or shall I just haunt the charity shops for a suitable men’s jacket in XS and roll the sleeves up (but I’m 5’4” so the shoulders would be odd).

Has anyone got anything suitable or any brilliant ideas?

I don't think you'd find a women's fashion blazer with an inside zipped pocket. But a decent seamstress would be able to put one in

Does it have to be a blazer, what about a lightweight utility or military style jacket, they always have loads of pockets

Zips I realise is a bigger ask.

Jigsaw used to have phone pockets inside their formal jackets but don’t appear to have them now.

You’re right, I may need to just get something I like and take it to the tailor.

I’ve got a lightweight jacket from Barbour with loads of pockets but l want something less utility looking for summer.

How about cargo trousers instead?

No I do not think that cargo trousers are a suitable substitute for a handbag for a middle aged woman

They put pockets on the inside of men’s jackets?? God, I’m so jealous.

They really do need to come up with some sort of campaign about women and pockets.

I'd rather wear something underneath with pockets as I think putting anything in the pockets of a blazer over a very slim size would ruin the line.

Is there a problem with the fit, though? Whatever you put in the pockets might interefere with the fit of a women's jacket.

Just get a small crossbody bag

I'm middle aged and I wear bloke trousers with pockets. No one has run away screaming. Keys, basic phone (not a smart brick) , wallet, mask, small bottle hand sanitizer all in two pockets. Easy.

Handbags are arm clutter. There's a reason men don't carry them.

You can get very good cross body bags that are a phone pocket on the front and a zipped purse on the back.

I don’t fancy a slim fit jacket anyway - there are a load of “boyfriend” relaxed fit jackets out there which would easily hold a phone and a credit card without unsightly bulges. And TBH the very close fit tailored jackets from Jigsaw that I used to wear for work in the Before Times had phone/ID card pockets and they looked absolutely fine.

No inside pockets though....

I need the same! I hate having to carry a handbag. If I’m out somewhere casual I have resorted to a running belt which fits my phone, mask and hand cleaner. Or a gilet. But need something a bit smarter
