I'm 38, and I need to sort my face out. I have crows' feet and my skin can feel quite rough, almost gritty. I don't wear makeup everyday, but because of the texture of my skin, foundation can become flaky or patchy.
I use a facewash, and have tried an exfoliating facewash, but they were quite cheap brands. I moisturise and use SPF.
I need to find something that will make my skin's texture smoother. I'm not after a chemical peel/botox, but a good routine.
Any advice?

Does your skin feel tight after washing?

SilentPanic · 21/04/2021 21:50

Yes it does.

I find Elemis papaya enzyme peel very good. It's a mask you apply and wash off and it's very gentle. It's dear but I get when there's an offer on.

Then the face wash & possibly the scrub are too harsh for your skin. You should look at a cream cleanser to start with. I use one by Sukin, the Signature Collection Cream Cleanser, & that doesn't leave my skin tight or dry.
You could add in a facial oil before your moisturiser too. That should help with any dryness.
You don't need to spend lots of money on brand name products, just find the right ones for your skin.

I find the Pixi glow tonic really good for exfoliating, makes a big difference to my skin. So I use that after cleaning my face with Cerave face wash.

I use Cerave daytime moisturiser which has some spf in it.
Sometimes I use vit c serum in the morning before the moisturiser.

I use Boots retinol a couple of evenings a week and also use The ordinary niacinimide a couple of nights a week. Followed by Elemis night moisturiser.

Thank you all!

I can't afford expensive products but I always cleanse, tone, use serum and then and moisturise every morning and night. Occasionally I use a non perfumed face wash.
I have different moisturisers, a day one with spf20 minimum and a night cream. I really like lidl and aldi products. I have just invested in an eye cream to add to the routine now!
I'm 42 and my skin looks good (about the only thing that does lol!)
