www.asceno.com/collections/dresses/products/bordeaux-dusty-rose-silk-bias-cut-slip-dress

Something like the above. Or can I get them made anywhere?

Looking at linen for daywear and silk for evening. Don’t think I want a print.

The one you linked is beautiful. This is quite nice but has thinner straps. What's your budget?

Thanks @ZaraW that’s a great dress - happy to spend around £100 rather than the Asceno £365! I am v fair and a red head so can’t wear pale creams and peach colours as I look naked! I love the fine light linen fabric though.

I am also short and curvy so the bias cut sits better on my shape.

It is the line. Abs silk which is the sticking point. I think we could find you loads in viscose of polyester.

Linen and ...

Yes I have struggled with finding linen - plenty of silk though. Would appreciate shape in other fabrics if you have come across any?

A bias cut is usually done with fabrics with good drape, linen is not a traditional fabric for that. A bias cut is a very inefficient use of fabric (it's cut at a 45 degree angle to the fabric edge) so it's much more costly and requires more skill to sew so the prices are usually high and you rarely see it on the high street.

Liliysilk will have some silk dresses at around your budget but not sure if they're bias cut (I suspect not). But not sure with Brexit if you're paying import duties and VAT now.

Raey (at Matches Fashion) have some nice silk dresses too starting at around £140 IIRC, don't think they're bias, although the more expensive ones may be.

Samsoe & Samsoe do utilise bias cut in some of their skirts and dresses, sometimes it's just the skirt part but they use a lot of cellulose based fabrics which also have good drape, should be around your budget too.

There's some here in this store at your sort of price range. They dont look like they're silk though

www.mimii.com/bias-v-neck-maxi-dress.html but some sizes sold out

www.mimii.com/satin-cowl-back-maxi-dress.html

they also have another style but it looks like its sold out as well.

Olivia Von Halle do beautiful slip dresses. Prints or solid colours, wonderful quality silk, perfect cut. They are expensive full price but are often heavily reduced on the Outnet.

Ghost was the queen of bias cut dresses. I think the company got bought out by Mr Pete Paphides of Dragons Den fame. Vintage dresses come up on eBay. As a pp said it’s not usually made of linen as that wouldn’t have the right drape. Ghost used their own brand of viscose.
